So this book was ok, but not great. The plot - in which the daughter of a Saudi prince is kidnapped - is clearly inspired by real events and I enjoyed the geopolitics side of things. I didn‘t click with the characters, though - the book felt quite impersonal and I never really got under the skin of any of them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me
This book was ROUGH to get through. I don‘t know if it was the fact that I was listening to it, or that there were a lot of people to keep track of, or the fact that it was part of a series I haven‘t read before...it was hard to follow and hard to get into. I almost stopped several times. Finishing it this morning was a little easier as I got my delicious breakfast ready!! I have been LOVING fresh fruit smoothies lately 🍓 🍌
Love the Gabriel Allon series! Listened to this one on #audiobook
Now I‘m all caught up and ready for the new one coming out later this year.
I picked this because it was partly set in Switzerland but hadn't realised it was part of a long running series, so feel like I didn't really connect with it. It was an okay story though.

Love the Gabriel Allon series and hopefully this latest addition is as good as all the others
Hi 👋. I changed my profile pic and username. But it‘s still me. Yoshi is still here. My name is not Genie or Geenie, btw. It is Tamara. For the record. Alright, let‘s Litsy on. ❤️📚🎈👍
This was supposed to be my last read of the year- but I have tomorrow now 🤷♀️.
Anyway, this was a fast paced, good read, very current and up to date references.
Another series I‘m now up up to date with 😁
When your chapter matches your bookmark 😁 book synchronicity
At an exclusive private school in Switzerland, mystery surrounds the identity of the beautiful girl who arrives each morning & leaves each afternoon in a heavily protected motorcade. And when she is brutally kidnapped across the border in the Haute-Savoie region of France, Gabriel all on, the legendary chief of Israeli intelligence, thrust into a deadly secret war with an old enemy that will determine the future.
I am thoroughly enjoying his latest book. Pulled me right in with the first chapter.
Thank You Daniel Silva for this latest installment of the Gabriel Allon series. I feel like this book redeemed the last two which were a little stale (IMHO). The New Girl was a straight up thriller, with a fast paced plot and plenty of political intrigue to keep the pages turning. Lots of returning characters and believable stories lend an air of authenticity. As someone who follows Middle East politics this book was especially compelling.
Have to put the book down because we‘re getting ready for water activities here at Camp Weissman 😉Jet skies, paddle board, water skiing or tubing🛥I‘m LOVING Silva‘s newest installment!!! It‘s a ripped from the headlines plot and it feels incredibly authentic.
This morning‘s view as I drink my coffee and dig into the new Gabriel Allon novel. I swear, Daniel Silva is part clairvoyant ....he writes about events before they occur. Another Middle East espionage event that occurred while he was writing this novel. 55 pages in and I‘m hooked 🎣
Found this swag waiting for me upon arrival at our friend‘s house!! The new Gabriel Allon novel and Summer 2019 Camp Weissman apparel😍Can‘t wait to see what my favorite assassin is up to!!!
Every summer I read one of Daniel Silva‘s Gabriel Allon novels in about two sittings. Expertly plotted and always topical they are a perfect example of solid beach/deck/dock reading. Can they be formulaic? Perhaps. However, it‘s a formula I have grown to love because it works every time. Who doesn‘t love a reluctant, world-saving art-restorer/super-spy...?
I wait patiently for Daniel Silva‘s new book each year, and I must say I am never disappointed. After a Saudi process is kidnapped, her father turns to Gabriel Allon to secure her release. What makes the plot work is that the crown prince must abdicate if he wishes to see his daughter alive again. A pariah for having ordered the murder of a journalist, the prince is a great character. Seemingly torn from recent headlines, this is a great read.
I‘m only on #15 (The English Spy) but I had to preorder the signed edition from B&N of the latest book in the series. I ❤️ Gabriel Allon. Daniel Silva writes some of the best spy thrillers, IMO.
