Life has been weird, busy, and stressful for the last few weeks, and my reading has been incredibly slow as a result. I only finished 13 books in July (usually am in the 20-30 range) and several of those were low page counts. So far in August, I've only finished two books - the two sequels to Polaris Rising, which I read in July but didn't review.

This trilogy was actually a lot of fun, although in my mind it was YA and it's actually quite ⬇

This was definitely fun and entertaining, but I think my least favorite of the trilogy. It took too long to get to the fun action scenes and the main characters relationship didnt really seem to have much of a foundation beyond proximity. The second half was much more enjoyable than the first.

I started reading Jessie Mihalik because of Ilona Andrews's recommendation and I kept reading because of Jessie Mihalik! This was a great end to the Consortium trilogy, which follows three sisters, each the heroine of her own book, in a space opera romance. Each sister is kick-butt in a different way, and both the characters and story are compelling.

Good deal for this trilogy-closer on kindle. I loved this trilogy, and while the first book is absolutely my favorite they were all great.

What a fantastic end to this trilogy! I could read so much more in this world and am so disappointed it‘s over, but it was a great finish.

So far I‘m up to “slug” in the #CYOReadathon and hope to get a little more progress tomorrow. Loving the great idea @Sace !

@Sace ‘s #CYOReadathon is on now! My goal is to read the tagged book, which I just dipped into last night. If I accomplish that it‘s on to the Lunar Chronicles (I own the first and have everything else from the library) to fill a bunch of SRP bingo slots.

The past week has been a real butt-kicker for me - the state of our country has me pretty despondent and there‘s been family stuff going on, so I‘m unplugging a lot. This readaton is well timed.

This Science Fiction Romance trilogy has been so much fun!

Catarina von Hasenberg paints a public persona of bubbly and flighty. As the youngest member of her High House she is often underestimated, and she takes full advantage of the misconception. She is a formidable spy and a master of manipulation.

When her sister Bianca sends Alex on a mission with her as bodyguard (in the guise of her lover), Cat finds her match in an unexpected way.

So I didn't take the day off all the other things just because this book came out today, but when picking a day of rest and realizing this book was releasing, it just seemed meant. Really love how that last Von Hasenberg sibling has her own set of skills, and gets herself a dude who helps her figure out how to use them even better.

#bookmail is the best mail! Got my special swag from The Ripped Bodice (I put in the bookplate before I took the picture 🤷🏻‍♀️). I‘m so excited to read this! But I‘m going to try really hard to wait until the end of the month, both to work on #bookspinbonanza and because this will fit a prompt for the summer reading experience from the library that starts on the 22d. We‘ll see how that goes.
