Finally got around to reading this one, gifted to me by @Libby1 about 4 years ago! Thank you Libby, I really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful love letter to bookshops, and a really enjoyable little read.

Good. Nice short book about what it means to be a reader and also a good story with interesting characters.

This was a cute little ode to books, reading, and bookstores. I enjoyed it, but the ending seemed very rushed and a little odd to me. This was my book in translation for #MMDchallenge and the #LetterV for #LitsyAtoZ (in translation). @BookishMarginalia

In order to meet my 2019 #readingchallenge, I need to read about 8 books a month. Here‘s my #JanuaryTBR stack. With 6 days left before I return to work and many of these started, I don‘t think it‘s too ambitious.

A charming novella about the power of literature.

Waking up early so I can read in bed. Do weekends have to be only 2 days???

So....this seemed to have all the makings of a book I'd love. But, alas, it wasn't great. Makes me feel bad. I don't know if it's the writing or the translation, but it was poorly crafted. Characters just disappear from the plot. Once, it was even noted that we wouldn't see this guy again at the end of the chapter. Just odd. It was short, so I finished it, but I can't recommend it unless you want to read a "don't write like R is" book.

This short novel / novella (~170 pages) is a heartwarming story about the power and magic of books and reading (and bookstores!) and their ability to change lives. It isn't perfect, but it is completely charming.

After my last Jackaby novel, I was a little worried about finding my next book. But a few pages into this little story and my worries are gone. It's a book about books, a bookstore, and the love of reading...how could this charming novel go wrong?

This was a very special book about the magic of reading. Highly recommend this one who loves books, which should be all of you. ❤️
