When a student disappears and is presumed dead, her professor passes off her manuscript as his own--only to find out it implicates him in an unsolved murder in this new thriller from the USA Today bestselling author of The Request. After years of struggling to write following the deaths of his wife and son, English professor Connor Nye publishes his first novel, a thriller about the murder of a young woman. There's just one problem: Connor didn't write the book. His missing student did. And then she appears on his doorstep, alive and well, threatening to expose him. Connor's problems escalate when the police insist details in the novel implicate him in an unsolved murder from two years ago. Soon Connor discovers the crime is part of a disturbing scandal on campus and faces an impossible dilemma--admit he didn't write the book and lose his job or keep up the lie and risk everything. When another murder occurs, Connor must clear his name by unraveling the horrifying secrets buried in his student's manuscript. This is a suspenseful, provocative novel about the sexual harassment that still runs rampant in academia--and the lengths those in power will go to cover it up.

FORGOT TO POST THIS YESTERDAY!!

CHALLENGE: KILL

Connor finally had a book published.  He needed this publication to save his tenure at the university.

The only problem is that the book is one written by a former student who has gone missing and was never found.

Mr. Bell will again treat readers to a gripping, page-turning thriller.

A book letter a day game!!

Mr. Bell simply has a way of creating books that have exceptionally real and unique, pulse-pounding story lines.

He has outdone himself with KILL ALL YOUR DARLINGS...don‘t miss this ONE…https://tinyurl.com/2p8suff2 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks #AlphabetGame #LetterK

This fast-paced thriller grabbed me from the first chapter. A professor turns a missing student's thesis about a local murder into a book to obtain tenure. There are many twists and turns before the murder is solved. I kept changing my mind about who did it and was surprised at the answer. I loved this book. #Booked2022 #DarkAcademia @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

Cinfhen I think I read this!!! It sounds familiar and also really good! 2y

Creative ambitions, sexual harassment & murder mingle in this campus mystery. I must be a writer because the plagiarism subplot grabbed me as much as the murders. English professors behaving dangerously badly… #mystery #plagiarism #academia

I struggled to get invested in the plot of this thriller. I was left with a “meh” feeling after finishing and I‘m excited to dive in to the next book.

This was the first book by this author that I‘d come across - I snagged this when looking for something on Libby to listen too during yard work. Good book! I will certainly find more from this author. This one felt in a similar vein as Harlan Coben thrillers, so if you enjoy his work maybe give this one a go.

This was just meh for me.🤨 A college student disappears so her professor publishes her thesis as his own novel. There‘s where the problems begin. The plot and story were good, I didn‘t like any of the characters. I have to be able to root for somebody!😜

LiteraryinLawrence This sounds a whole lot like The Plot! I haven‘t read either though. 3y
Booknerd2 @LiteraryinLawrence I thought the same thing. I haven‘t read it either it‘s on hold at my library. 3y

𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹, in addition to being a bestselling novelist, is an English professor. In 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 he takes on academia: plagiarism, tenure, the power imbalance between faculty & students...& murder. It's a fast-paced, tautly-crafted mystery about a good man who, grief-stricken, did a very bad thing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⁣

This just wasn't my favorite. I didn't really connect with any of the characters. And I sort of didn't care by the end.

What a roller coaster ride! Twists and turns, the slow acceleration until you reach the peak and then the thrilling dive. When the ride is over you still feel a bit shaky.

Once in a while I get thriller burn out thanks to the same formula being used for the past decade. Well, this #ARC redeemed the genre for me once again! Though it's nothing shocking or groundbreaking, I loved that it kept me guessing and didn't require a major suspension of disbelief.

KILL ALL YOUR DARLINGS by David Bell
This was my first David Bell book. It will not be my last. It's a fast paced book that will keep you turning the pages late into the night. A book that keeps you guessing and wondering what is going on.
Who is guilty and why did they do this.
