The setting in this book,Lapland,Finland, made this story for me.Flora,a Christmas junkie, joins a caravan of traveling Christmas shops anchored in Lapland for the holiday.Always an outsider, her eccentric, more than blunt, out spoken personality, finds true friendships, meets the man of her dreams, while facing trials & missteps along the way.She is immature, ditsy, over the top,& at times annoying. But an easy seasonal read.
“History is riveting.” For this History major, this remains true!

Leeds Castle dates back to 1119. Six medieval Queens were in residence. Henry VIII had his first wife, Catherine of Aragon live there. Eventually it came into private hands & is now open to the public. Per: www.UKtravelplanning.com
This morning‘s read - before the World Cup! 🇦🇷🇫🇷

Flora is an over-the-top Christmas celebrant who has not been able to find her place in life. Her best friend talks her into the caravan life. Despite her fears or maybe even because of them, Flora begins to take control of her life and wonder if there is room to squeeze in a Norse god.
Not gonna lie, this book didn‘t get much better as I found the MC way too flighty & immature but it had some (Hallmark-ish) holiday rom-com moments) Lapland is cool & I stuck with it & finished it up today because as part of the #WonterGames2021 #WGWordsearch it gave me 537 (295 Christmases alone) words so 5,370 points + 26 points for a holiday read & participation, not to mention #readathon points (readathons listed ⬇️) for #TeamGameSleighers 🎄
Can I tell you how happy I have tomorrow off?! We ordered in Mexican food for lunch & these are my fish tacos. 😋 I am truly trying to get into this holiday read but the MC is driving me crazy & I just want to shake her at 13% in & now that I checked out some reviews, I don‘t know that it will get any better. I have a feeling it might be a big point book for the #WinterGames2021 #WGSearch so I may try to hack it out for #TeamGameSleighers 🤷🏻♀️
This was an overall cute ebook but there were some things that got on my nerves. The characters were a little over the top at times but still a nice, easy holiday read.
Flora loses her job and decides to join the van life in Lapland to pursue her love of all things Christmas on her own. When she meets Connor, who doesn‘t care for the materialistic waste of Christmas, she goes on a mission to change his mind about Christmas and perhaps love. A rather large amount of lying and mentioning of Hallmark movie heroes ensues. Flora is an overtop female character who had me scratching my head a lot.
This totally sounds like a book I should enjoy, about a woman who heads off to Lapland in a camper to attend/sell items at a Christmas festival and (of course) finds love along the way. But Flora was just Too Much for me. There is a line between zany/eccentric and batshit crazy, and Flora is definitely flirting with it. She also has a tendency to do/say genuinely weird things and then get offended if anyone is like “Wow, Flora, that's a little ⬇
This truly is a Hallmark movie here and I loved it. The setting, the people and the idea of van life is all so appealing. Having read the earlier story introducing us to van life, I knew i was going to love this. Flora is so loveable, she says things we're all thinking but not confident to say. Flora is also relatable with her fear of public speaking. Connor is just dreamy and you instantly know where its heading. #Netgalley 5*
