pickI think I‘m going to need to re-read My Soul Twin when I‘m fighting fit to make a fair assessment of it (same goes for Wuthering Heights, come to that). But if you loved the original, the classic tale of a doomed love affair between adopted siblings, then you‘ll probably love this version, too. so-soI see I never reviewed this #NetGalley #AudioARC & honestly im already struggling to remember all the details. Basically a twisted family relationship involving adopted siblings who begin a heated sexual relationship in their youth and then the repercussions and fallout from their affair. Parts were great but it felt wayyyy too long & the buildup wasn‘t worth the climax ( excuse my pun 😉) #BorrowNotBuy #MoreMehThanYeah
pickI wasn‘t sure at first - do I care about these people? But then I found myself deep inside the novel - layers and layers of emotional hurt, family complexity, powerlessness and internal conflicts and I was hooked. It‘s brutal at times, equally frustrating and magical too. Nobody writes characters like Haratischvili - they‘re always so full of paradoxes, muddled and very real.

I popped into my local indie to pick up a book I‘d ordered for hubby when I spotted this on the shelf….
Actually all of the blurbs / reviews say it‘s a modern-day Wuthering Heights so I may use it for #booked2023 #moderntakeonaclassic instead of Demon Copperhead. It‘s certainly slimmer than Demon anyway, as I saw that on the shelf there and it‘s a bit of a chunkster!

I was at first super excited but now a bit apprehensive to start the tagged book! It‘s the second book in English translation from this fab author! I can‘t count the number of copies I‘ve gifted of The Eighth Life. It‘s such a fabulous book. I hope her new one is as good …..🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
