Lore Olympus: Volume Six
Lore Olympus: Volume Six | Rachel Smythe
17 posts | 18 read
Witness what the gods do after dark in the sixth volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes content from creator Rachel Smythe. We have to make an example of her. Chaos reigns in Olympus as Zeus publicly declares Persephone a traitor and issues a warrant for her arrest. But Hades defies his brothers decree, sheltering Persephone in the Underworldand as the pair spend more time together, they are able to speak openly about their pasts. The goddess of spring admits the truth behind the bloody secret that led to Zeuss ire, and the king of the Underworld shares the trauma he suffered at the hands of his power-hungry father, Kronos. But as Hades and Persephones relationship grows stronger, others begin to fall apart. The bond between Hades and Zeus is stretched to its limit, threatening to fracture the peace between their realms. Persephone and Artemiss friendship hangs by a thread as the goddess of the hunt slowly uncovers the vile truth about her twin, Apollo. A line is being drawn in the heavens, putting everyones loyalties into question as all the gods are forced to choose sides. And as the cracks in the foundation of the pantheon spread, something darker and more earth-shattering might soon be released. . . . This edition of Smythes original Eisner Awardwinning webcomic Lore Olympus features exclusive behind-the-scenes content and brings the Greek pantheon into the modern age in a sharply perceptive and romantic graphic novel. This volume collects episodes 127152 of the #1 WEBTOON comic Lore Olympus.

2 Graphic Novels in November. I loved them both! They were so very beautifully drawn :)

I finished both 6 and 7 on Thanksgiving - I hate that I have to wait forever to read the next one (I do read the webcomic ones, but.. I like it in the book better).

Not my favorite of the series, but still wonderful. It ends on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger and I can‘t wait for the next volume.

charl08 I'm only on 4, trying to space then out a bit! 3w
DGRachel @charl08 I understand. It takes me less than an hour and a half to read one volume and I‘m always a little sad to be done. 3w
Graciouswarriorprincess I just finished this one too. Agree with you. 3w

I love this series. The pieces are starting to fall together. The quiet moments between Kore and Hades are adorable.

I'm in full cozy mode tonight. The perfect way to wind down into the weekend.

Well Persephone was not gone for long and her relationship with hades is blossoming. But so is the danger she and all the realms are in.

Love, love, love, looove! Yes, I've had a weakness for the positive fannon version of a Hades/Persephone story since I first learned about these mythical figures in grade school, but this series is just so much more than I could have imagined. The content warning provided by the author is there for a reason, but there is so much about this book that is thoughtful and tender and sweet. 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 It's about relationships, primarily and considering the characters are the Olympians et al, I'm gleeful whenever a non-toxic take on a possible pairing shows up. The art: how it goes from epic to squee, I just LOVE IT. Had some very important moments plot wise here. Hera coming in in a way I very much appreciated. And Minthe's arc? Yeah, things went from bad to worse but so much of that is her attitude. Girl needed a timeout. 😉 4mo

I love, love, LOVE Lore Olympus. I love the artwork, gods/goddesses behaving badly, interpersonal dynamics, and most of all - Kore/Persephone and Hades. Cue deep, contented sigh. It‘s a soap opera in graphic novel form and I am here for every panel. My only complaint is that it takes me less than 2 hours to read all 400+ pages and now I have to wait 3 months for Volume 7.

Another great installment. My only complaint is I‘m having a hard time keeping similar-looking characters straight. I guess I‘ll have to do a full-series reread at some point while I wait for the next one this fall!

I checked the mail on my way out to pick up kiddo from dance rehearsal, and my preorder arrived! Guess what I‘m reading while I wait. Of course, my bag now has two large books and a water bottle in it, so it weighs a ton.
