Mean Girls | Lindsay Lohan

Mehso-so

⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I went to see Mean Girls today, so a #theaterreview instead of a book this time! The show was really fun & for big fans of the movie, I think it would be pretty perfect. It kept reminding me of Legally Blonde the musical only not being quite as good. I also think if I were in high school or early college I would have *loved* this, but now I felt older than some of the jokes & that also took me out of it a bit.

First audiobook of the year completed. I would have loved this as a kid. Bonus: their first book was Little Women.
I set a goal to listen to more audiobooks this year. I have to if I ever hope to put a dent on my tbr since it‘s always growing.

So excited to round out a year of book talk on my podcast with a conversation about the first title in The Clique series! We chat about the mean girls cultural moment of the early aughts, why we love to read about money, all the weirdness of middle school, the sexualization of tweens, the politics of school uniforms, creepy dads, the moral responsibility (or not!) of middle grade authors, and more. Link to listen in my bio!

Rafe did not care about any school rules, he did his best to break any rule he can. The more and more rules he breaks the more teachers dislike him. He has a little sister Georgia she had to go to the school her brother was enrolled in.
Georgia starts going to his brother's school, everyone thought she was just like her brother.
She ends up proving everyone off, she showed that she is different from her brother in multiple ways.

This book catches my interests. So far 7 chapters in or 74 pages in. Quarantine takes a highschool setting where kids are diagnosed with a virus that makes them dangerous to adults and children and they have to survive to lose the virus and get out alive. This book not for kids by the way. Kids dont fight to be popular, kids fight to survive

“So for me, leadership is about building your own character before you start influencing anyone else. To be a true leader, I think you must first learn what it is like to follow — And to follow without losing your own moral compass, you have to know yourself and appreciate where you come from.”

I started the book hating Natalie Hargrove. She didn‘t exactly redeem herself, but by the end I understood her.

Happy Mean Girls Day! Did you know that Tina Fey adapted the concept for Mean Girls from Queen Bees and Wannabes? I'm so glad she did - it was ambitious and it paid off, this is still one of my favourite films of all time! #October #MeanGirls #Trivia #FunFact
