Hell, yes. It's such a feeling of relief after a couple meh graphic novels or novels or non-fiction books to read a GOOD one. That being said, this volume comes with two caveats: 1) The nature of The Spectre, as well as the theme of the overarching plot, had some heavy religious overtones. To my atheist ass that just reads as supernatural fiction, but if it's likely to bug you, be warned. 1/?

Robotswithpersonality 2/? 2) While it does not appropriate the history, culture or beliefs of any specific Indigenous group, only alludes to “destroying an entire people to settle“ Gotham, genocide of a native population is also a theme. I don't have an issue with the it was handled, but I can't speak for how others will encounter this plot. 4mo
Robotswithpersonality 3/3 On to the good stuff! I found this because I was seeking out Ben Templesmith's art, and I was greatly rewarded. I also adore a ragtag bunch up against paranormal forces, with a somewhat grizzled detective. The woven-in back story flashbacks gave just enough info. The part where Batman is basically a minor character drawn in a somewhat creatchur style in a book with Gotham in the title just makes me giggle. Already borrowed the next volume. 😁 4mo

The storyline is interesting. Many reviewers mention the ending, in which things are not wrapped up completely. Things are left in a morally gray area so it may leave some readers unsatisfied. Personally, I was fine with the ending because it leaves open the possibility of more installments. Also, the morally gray ending was thought-provoking so I appreciated that aspect.

This was another great comic from the DC Graphic Novels for Young Adults imprint. This one followed a young Victor Fries (aka Mr. Freeze) as he first meets Nora (aka Mrs. Freeze). I thought this comic set up their origin story nicely.
with that. If you like tragic young adult love stories, then you‘ll probably like Victor and Nora‘s story!

Memories of Halloween Past post 2 of 4
My daughter as Harley Quinn in 2015. This costume came out cute but was one of the hardest costumes I have ever made. It was a stretchy (I say that loosely) glossy latex looking fabric that was a polyester and polyurethane mix that was impossible to work with.

Batman has done something that he never thought that he would do... he lost someone. After trying to right the wrong he feels powerless and turns to putting an unknown substance in his body. one that promises to make him stronger and faster than he ever thought possible. But what it does is turn him into the very thing that he fights against. It turns him into a monster!
Absolutely fantastic comic series!

I managed to finish this one off on the bus before I dropped it off at the library. The story was good, but MAN those graphics. 😍 I loved the artwork! #TeamSlaughter +3

Mehso-so

I really enjoyed Starr's first Gotham book, which was a prequel to the TV series. This one takes place between seasons 2 & 3, and really seems kind of pointless. No big revelations or major insights into the characters, just a set up for season 3 which has already come and gone. Even if you like the show, which I do, I think you'll come away disappointed with this. 3 💥💥💥 out of 5

My biggest candy weakness is jelly beans, especially jelly belly jelly beans. I love mixing the flavors with weird combos like coffee, buttered popcorn and cinnamon.
