As I was looking through my alphabet challenge I realised that I haven't read any books with a K. So I got on a mission to find something cute and short to fill the void.
My reading slump is still ongoing so I knew not to do something over the top.

And when I realised I had the Baby-sitters club on Audio it was like a sign.

👇🏻

Enchanted_Bibliophile I read some of these when I was younger, but I was more into the Famous Five and those adventure type books, so the Baby-sitters were few and far between.

But coming back to these was a lot of fun. I don't think I've ever read this first book, so it was nice to see how it all started.

I'm kinda in the mood to listen to all of them now. Might this be the end of my dreaded reading slump? Here's to hoping!

mabell I remember reading some, but like you, I don‘t think I read many. I enjoyed them, but I guess I preferred other series/books. Didn‘t they choose Claudia as the club contact because she had her own phone? 😄 11mo

Bookwormjillk I loved this series when I was a kid. If you do podcasts The Baby Sitters Club Club is a lot of fun. 11mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile @mabell Great memory! Claudia was made vice president because they used her room and phone for the meetings. 11mo
Enchanted_Bibliophile @Bookwormjillk Thanks! I'm definitely gonna give it a try. 11mo

That ending....
I really love where this series is going.
The double POV was a delightful change. Adrian's voice is definitely what was missing in the previous books.

Can't wait to start the next book.

I don't know exactly what I was expecting when I started this book, but it definitely wasn't this.
I've read this series in publication order, so I knew Hannibal. But knowing the why behind Hannibal gives this whole series a different feel.
I'll have to go back and read it chronologically.

While I'm 100% in support of the message this book holds, I was not a fan. I couldn't find one single character I liked. The story dragged and I just couldn't engage with it.
If I haven't had it on audio I would definitely have DNF it.

This is one of the legends novels that Disney discarded in favor of their new cannon. It tells the story of a young Han Solo trying to make his way to the navel academy and the adventures/chaos leading up. There are cults, damsels in distress, large hairy beasts, gun fights, and lots of dangerous flying; the usual for Han 🚀

SpeculativeFemale Thanks for the reminder! I have some more of the older “Legends“ books I picked up secondhand several years ago and haven't gotten around to yet. 1y

A sweet short little story delving into Christopher's world.
We meet his Skeleton Girl and get to know more about Mariposa and how it came to be.

I'd love to see more of this world!

I was really surprised at how much I loved this book. Especially considering that it's a genre I usually avoid, and not something I would have ever brought for myself. But my mother-in-law (not a reader) heard everyone talking about the books and decided to get me the first 3 for my birthday.

Let's just say I am very grateful to her at this moment. This is such a touching, raw story. Told in such a compelling way.

jdiehr Love this series! Book 8 comes out in May... 2y
rubyslippersreads I‘ve been wanting to read these since @Andrew65 recommended them. 2y
TheSpineView Awesome! 2y
Andrew65 @rubyslippersreads I‘m always recommending this series. Following the author‘s sad death the book is written with or by her son. Be interested to see how that one reads. 2y
Clwojick I‘ve never heard of it, but the cover would have me grabbing it if I saw it at the thrift store. 😍 2y
Andrew65 @Clwojick You must read the series. Excellent books. 2y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @Andrew65 I've seen you recommend it, but I thought the historical romance part really wasn't for me. Now I know better 2y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @jdiehr I've already added it to my wishlist 😁 even though I still have 6 to go before I can get to it 2y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @rubyslippersreads @Clwojick Will definitely recommend you to try it! 2y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @Andrew65 I read that she told him how Pa Salt's story should go, but I'm also wondering if it will read as easily as this one did. 2y
Andrew65 @Enchanted_Bibliophile So sad she didn‘t get to write it 😢 2y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @Andrew65 Very sad indeed 😢 I have a feeling it will be the most important book of the series 2y

Another February #roll100 title finished in March.

In anticipation of watching Amazon Prime‘s Daisy Jones & the Six series when it released, I wanted something to get me in the mood without expressly rereading Daisy. This was just the ticket! Some similar themes here of rock ‘n roll, dealing with fame and music and art. There‘s also drugs and addiction, along with mental health all rolled into various ways these things influence people. ⬇️

MeganAnn And in the end if you loved Daisy Jones I think you‘ll probably also love this. But for me, I love them as separate books that only contain a common theme but really aren‘t the same at all. I think this would be a great summer beach read. I almost wished I would‘ve had a beach to sit on in the sun while reading this one. 2y

This magnificent and beautifully written family story spans decades and is full of love, betrayal, and mystery. The adult children of a complicated woman must come to terms with their inheritance on many levels: history, race, food, secrets and, ultimately, redemption. I loved so much about this book and it‘s unique perspective and I highly recommend it! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #Pantone2023 @Clwojick #IcedMango #SummerSon
