Emma Bovary, daughter of an uneducated farmer and wife of a dull doctor in northern France, harbors a passion for everything beyond her grasp—sophistication, romance, love, and deliverance from her banal provincial life.
In its day, Madame Bovary was condemned as an affront to public morals. Yikes!

Absolutely devoured this book! Can you hear me shouting from the rooftop, “READ THIS BOOK”? 5-Stars
Publisher‘s Description:
A riveting page-turner about a Black classical musician‘s desperate quest to recover his lost violin on the eve of the most prestigious musical competition in the world.
I have been seeing reading challenges being posted and I thought I would do some 2022 planning myself. I really like the prompts from #modernmrsdarcy.
I plan to try harder on my #bookspin next year. I also want to establish a more consistent reading time (probably 1 hour before bed time). There are other things I would like to work on, but for now these are my priority!
Does anyone have any goals they are excited about?

Loved the movie and loved this on audio. I discovered that a man local to my area was killed during this time in this are of Vietnam. This makes me proud to be the daughter, granddaughter, niece and cousin to former or current service members.
I put this on hold after seeing it in Modern Mrs Darcy‘s summer reading guide. It was worth the wait.

I think this might be a case of the right book at the wrong time for me. The world is so crazy right now, and this very dystopian novel is set just a few years from now. I couldn‘t wait to be finished. If it wasn‘t the October book for #mmdbookclub, I would have DNF‘d it and come back to it later. #modernmrsdarcy #Libby #audiobook
