My best reading year since I started using Goodreads in 2012.🥳

I also completed:

🎉#Popsugar2018
🎉#LitsyClassicsAtoZ
🎉#ERMadlibs2018
🎉#LitsyReadingChallenge2018
🎉#Booked2018
🎉#MountTBR (Mt. Everest-100 books)

I‘ve read some awesome books, but most of all, I‘ve really enjoyed another year of reading and stacking and swapping and book-clubbing and chatting and getting to know so many Litsy friends.

Happy New Year! ❤️

Reggie You are a reading badass. 6y
sprainedbrain @HOTPock3tt I backed my goal for this year down a little. I decided there‘s no reason to keep increasing it every year and have to stress about it. As long as we are all reading and enjoying what we like, it doesn‘t matter. ❤️ 6y
sprainedbrain @Reggie I might as well be a badass at something! 😂 6y

It‘s almost time for the #11thHourReadathon hosted by @EclecticReaders ...now with a chance to win a prize. 😃

The readathon runs from 8 pm (EST) on December 29 through 8 pm on December 30. Follow the hashtag or see the original posts for more info.

I will be starting an hour or so late due to a late Christmas party tomorrow evening, but I have 4 books to finish before the end of the year to complete #Popsugar2018, so I am definitely in!

EclecticReaders Yay! Glad you‘ll be joining us! 6y

It‘s a rainy day and I‘m nestled in doing some 2019 reading challenge prep while my husband and the kiddos are running errands (I think they‘re getting me stocking things—hopefully tiny books?? 😬).

I plan to complete Litsy‘s own #Booked2019, @thereadingwomen challenge, and @annebogel ‘s #mmdchallenge. BUT, I‘m also seriously contemplating doing the #popsugar2019 challenge, as well. What do you guys think? Too much or just enough?

saresmoore @sprainedbrain I‘m still on the fence! 6y
sprainedbrain @saresmoore You probably shouldn‘t ask me... I‘m doing those four. 😂 6y
saresmoore WELL, that means I‘d have a challenge pal 👯‍♀️, so yes, you‘re a terrible influence. 😆😘 6y

Mitch Oh, I love this Tim so dye are..stationary, goal setting, making plans...love it all! 6y
MaGoose It seems to be rather a lot of reading. Depends on how fast you read. I could never do that much because I'm a slow reader. But, if you think you can do it, go for it. 6y
saresmoore @Mitch Aside from reading, this is my favorite thing to do! 6y
saresmoore @MaGoose My reading speed is so dependent on a number of factors, but I think if I doubled up on enough prompts, I could do it. But, you make a very good point—it‘s a LOT of reading. 🤔 6y
Mitch @saresmoore me too! 6y
LauraBeth Do them all! Don‘t forget the Read Harder Challenge! 😁 https://bookriot.com/2018/12/12/2019-read-harder-challenge/ 6y
saresmoore @LauraBeth I think I need you to be my personal trainer/life coach, but I‘m certain that I can‘t afford you! I planned to skip Read Harder because it all looked overwhelming, but... Are you doing all of the challenges, too?? 6y
LauraBeth @saresmoore I say we aim high! We may actually discover that we achieve something completely different (but better) than what we were originally aiming for. 😀 Plus, if we never aim high because we‘re afraid to fail, then we haven‘t realized that failure is actually a part of success. 6y
dylanisreading Well now I know how I'm going to spend my Saturday. I was going to run errands, but since I have the house to myself, and your planning looks lovely, I'm going to spend the day goal setting for next year's reading. I vote you do all! 😁 6y
batsy I'm just looking forward to you sharing your reading lists 🤓 6y
LeahBergen Ooooh, you‘re ambitious! 6y
saresmoore @LauraBeth Amen to that! Okay, I‘ll give it a go! Darn, guess that means I have more planning to do. 6y
valeriegeary I'm doing booked and Anne Bogel's challenge too! Or I'm going to try. I failed booked hard last year so decided to try 2 challenges this year. Obviously that will be easier. 🙃 6y
saresmoore @LeahBergen Yes, ambitious is the word...or drunk on the joy of list-making. 🤪 6y
Kalalalatja Okay, you are motivating me to do more challenges! And since I‘m a bit too hungover to read, I can always plan next year‘s reading 🙌 6y
saresmoore @valeriegeary Ah, yes. Readers‘ logic. 😂 6y
saresmoore @Bianca High five! Errands are so overrated. And I‘m gonna give them all a go! 🤪 6y
saresmoore @Kalalalatja 😂☕️📝 6y
saresmoore Alright, @LauraBeth , I love the Read Harder challenge and I‘m getting all excited about the prompts until I come across: A book written in prison. 😂 I don‘t even know where to begin with research for that! 6y
Cinfhen I can‘t imagine a more perfect day!!! Happy prep work 😘😘 6y
saresmoore @Cinfhen Thank you! It has been exactly what I needed! 6y
bookishdawg Bookish goodness! I took on three challenges last year... fun! 6y
LauraBeth @saresmoore 😂 I got you...will return with some recommendations! 6y
Cinfhen If it‘s prison fiction I read this one and I loved it 6y
saresmoore @LauraBeth Woohoo! Thank you! So many great choices! 6y
andrew61 Sounds like a good idea - I'll look forward to seeing your progress. I had 2 a-z on the go this year and shd finish classics which i have loved but would also like a bit more randomness this year. I haven't done an organised one before, although always fancied the books on nightstand bingo - enjoy your planning 👍 6y
saresmoore @andrew61 Books on the nightstand bingo sounds like an excellent idea! I want to read mostly from what I already own, but I have come across some really intriguing new books in the planning process. 6y
Suet624 Reading about all the challenges you will be attempting makes me anxious. I‘m so glad you have upbeat and positive friends on Litsy because I‘m starting to bite my fingernails on your behalf. 6y
LauraBeth @Suet624 I‘m here to help alleviate anxiety and manage stress! 😀 Challenges will be accompanied by art therapy, writing, exercise, positive self-talk, cat petting and wine. 🎨 📝🏃‍♀️🦋🐈🍷 6y
Suet624 @LauraBeth Yes, your previous comments led me to realize that you are the perfect partner to help manage stress and anxiety. Sara is blessed to have you by her side. 💕 6y
LauraBeth @Suet624 I‘m on the side of Littens like yourself! I want all of the women I see every single day (including you), who might not realize the magic they possess just by being unapologetically themselves - to see it! 6y
Suet624 @LauraBeth Thank you. You are just a big ball of love. 💕 6y
saresmoore @Suet624 @LauraBeth I just love you both so much! 6y
britt_brooke Dang, girl! Reading that stressed me out! 🤯 I‘ve found the only challenges I can do are the number I set in GR and the random goals I come up with myself (i.e. x number of classics, rereads, etc). I have faith in you, though! 6y
saresmoore @britt_brooke I‘m hoping it will feel incredibly rewarding. I have a lot of personal improvement goals for 2019, but I think they‘re all beneficial and attainable...time will tell! 6y
kamoorephoto I have all but two of #popsugar2018 done (mostly because I don't want to do the last two book categories (I'm being stubborn, and I completed my Goodreads goal, so I thought I might do the Litsy seasonal one plus Book Riot read harder instead this year (instead of popsugar). I have bigger fish to fry in terms of my personal world, I guess (didn't manage my move this year 😩), but I can usually conquer reading goals... 6y
saresmoore @kamoorephoto I think there‘s a fine balance to be struck with goals. I want to genuinely work hard at reaching them, but I also have to remember to give myself grace when things don‘t go according to how I‘d thought they would. Best wishes to you in 2019! ♥️ 6y

Before bailing on my last book, I scoured our bookshelves for another book that would fit the #fruitorvegintitle prompt. I found it in a subtitle on Maya‘s shelf! 🍎

And with that, this will be my last post for #popsugar2018! #pop18

Bring on #popsugar2019!

Reading‘s about all I feel like doing today! Major procrastination this afternoon. 😂

After this one, I‘ll be done with #popsugar2018....my first time completing a challenge!

It‘s a series of short essays giving an inside look at the American farmer‘s market culture. A friend gifted this to me s few years ago, as we‘re both avid farmer‘s market shoppers!

LoverofLit Congrats on completing your challenge! 👏👏👏 6y
alisiakae @LoverofLit I have to finish this book first! 😃 6y
LoverofLit Haha @4thhouseontheleft Well get to reading then! 😜 Congrats to ALMOST completing your challenge! 6y

I find it impossible to separate my love for the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical from the source material. The music ran through my head as I listened to the audiobook. If you are a fan of the musical, I think you‘ll love the book, too. #popsugar2018 #stageplayormusical

This book is not in the Litsy database, and it is not very well written, but I am very grateful to the author for all of the genealogical research that he did, as well as writing down the oral history from my great-grandmother‘s side of the family. She comes from a Mennonite family that migrated from Lancaster, PA to the Shenandoah Valley in the 1700s. My ggrandmother made the reverse journey to PA with her husband when my grandma was a teen.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Cool! You know I‘m in Lancaster, right? If you want headstone photos of any ancestors‘ graves up here, just let me know. (Weird, but it‘s a genealogical thing.) 6y
alisiakae @BarbaraTheBibliophage Yes! you knew I grew up in York? There‘s an old Bentz homestead cemetery somewhere near Dillsburg that houses all of my dad‘s ancestors. 😃 And my biological family are all from Delta and Hartford County, MD. 6y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft I did know that, but I forgot. Did you know Sally Kranich? I think she‘s a little older than you, come to think of it. She and I worked together in Philly many years ago, and of course that‘s her maiden not married name. 6y
Cinfhen Really cool 6y
Leftcoastzen I have a fondness for people who work hard on family records even if their writing style isn‘t the best. 6y

Cuddling up by the fire with the blanket gifted to me by @melyndarae and my "About or set on Halloween" book for #Popsugar2018 :) I had to take a little bit of liberty with this one since I was having such a hard time finding a book for this prompt, but it is pretty spooky, so I think it will be ok :)

OH. MY. GOD! This is an absolutely fantastic and emotional book. The writing and the depth of the characters made me feel like I was right there with Starr every step of the way. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me angry and it inspired me. Angie Thomas poured her heart and soul into it and I couldn't be more thrilled to have read it. Loved this as my "book by an author of a different ethnicity than you".
