Dr. Seuss always gets it right!
“The tiger felt shameful, and in the end he became a frightened mouse again.“
This book made me think about when I was a child and I would try to show off my accomplishments or something extremely cool that I had which nobody else I knew did. One thing I never thought about was that even though the things I had technically belonged to me, I would not have had them if it were not for my parents, or friends that had given them to me
This award winning book was not only interesting to look at, it also was a great lesson to share with young readers because it embodies the way human nature tends to be. We are prideful, and sometimes forget the people in our lives who have helped us get to the places we are at today. When the mouse was turned into a tiger, he was so prideful that he forgot the hermit was the reason for it all, so in the end he became a mouse again.
#AyUpAugust This book was gifted to me by the fabulous @Hooked_on_books and I can‘t wait to read it!! The cover made me think of a rainbow, and the subject matter made me think of #PRIDE 🏳️🌈which led me to today‘s prompt #ChasingRainbows 🌈🌈🌈
Not really book related ( we were selling used books) but here is my best friend and my craft booth at pride festival this weekend! It was our first time doing this and we had a blast! I made scrunchies , crystal / die necklaces !
Hare and Tortoise by Alison Murray is a great TL story that would be a nice lesson for the classroom. Of course, it tells how slow and steady can still win the race and you don‘t have to be the fastest. I would use the strategy of RA, so the students can all listen and discuss when the story is done.

I‘m turning full #pride for 21st birthday, with some book-ish gifts, a gorgeous jumpsuit and a long skirt, this wonderful bag in deep blue and of course, this book. I‘ve heard only positive things about it, it sounds a lot like fanfiction, WHICH I LOVE TO READ, so my expectations are high.

From drag queens and discos, to black holes and monsters, these stories and poems wrestle with love and loneliness and the fight to be seen. By turns serious and fantastical, hilarious and confrontational, We Were Always Here addresses the fears, mysteries, wonders and variety of experience that binds our community together.
