pickHow do you even review a book like this? Part of me feels that the less you know going in, the better. The title acts as a trigger warning, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor a couple of times because things did get, for lack of a better word, psychotic.
It caught my eye at the book store and the quirky chapter headings sold me completely (my favourite being "XXVI. Is Fraught with Some Danger, but for Whom, the Reader Must Determine.")
Finally found something. I know it‘s the plural, but I also got head-butted by my son right when I found it so I need the win. 😬🤣💛🤕 #WickedWords
pickThis was the first book I‘ve read written in verse, and I really enjoyed it. It tells the story of a young boy growing up in a rough neighborhood, surrounded by gang violence and shootings. During an elevator ride, he‘s visited by ghosts from his past, which reminded me a bit of A Christmas Carol. It‘s a powerful, thought-provoking story that I finished in just about an hour. I‘d recommend it to anyone looking to try something new and unique.
I‘m making progress in my IRL bookclub‘s September pick, and it‘s actually pretty good! Definitely not one I would‘ve picked up otherwise 😊 I did have to print off a character list since names are just thrown out all Willy-Nilly 🤣 (Green tabs on top are for quotes, the tabs down the side are my reading chunks so I don‘t get overwhelmed 😆)
pickThis was . . . different! The name is certainly fitting, because this lady was all kinds of crazy! I listened to the audio and loved how she would just slip some gruesome or outrageous statement into what started out as a normal sentence. I liked the uniqueness of it. I will definitely watch the movie when it comes out.
He is the ultimate. I have such a big crush on him.

I‘m a day late, the air quality in New Hampshire took me out yesterday with a massive headache. Anyone else?
Anyway, I never read this book but I loved the movie. (Normally I hate a movie cover on a book, but this one has Kate Winslet so she gets a pass).
pickA low pick but definitely a different read. Some humor, some gore, a bit of creepiness and one weird story. Ms. Notty arrives at Endsor house to care for the Pounds children but she obviously has other intentions. I liked the Victorian aspect of the story and Winifred Notty is one crazy character. I heard there is a movie being made. I‘m definitely interested to see how they adapt this story!!
