Coloring time! I should have done this for my #uniquefact! 😂 I love to color and one of the kindergarten assistants got this for me last Christmas as a gift. I always color with the kids I work with and this one has great quotes!

Varshitha Pretty 8y
PennyPistol Very nice! 8y
Godmotherx5 Looks great. 8y

Broke_Girl_Reads Here's a #uniquefact: I got into the GWS program at the UW right after Danielle Henderson graduated. I didn't get the chance to meet her but all my professors had a copy of her book. Some of them even snuck Ryan into our lecture power points 8y
Carol Haha I don't miss it because I hated typing and filing the cards, and we get sooooo much more metadata today than we could get with the cards. Librarian Hey Girl had so many RG library themed memes. I wonder if that tumblr is still around... 8y
Yamich49 OMG I love feminist Ryan Gosling. And honestly any of the Ryan Gosling hey girls. ❤️❤️ 8y
KVanRead Hahahaha!!! 8y
Hooked_on_books Mmmmm, he's tasty! 8y
BookishFeminist @Broke_Girl_Reads 😂😂 that's the best! I would love those lectures. So cool you were in the same program just at different times. I got the chance to meet and chat with her last year, and she's amazing! We talked intersectional feminism for a while because of course 🤓 I have a signed copy of this sitting on my shelf and read it when I'm pissy, lol 8y
BookishFeminist @Carol Hahaha yea my mom doesn't miss it either, but the nostalgia's fun (and I still have one in my library's history room to play around with) 🤓 the tumblr has to be around still just maybe not updated 8y
BookishFeminist @Yamich49 YES! Me too- they gave me sustenance in grad school, lol 💛 8y
BookishFeminist @ValerieColeYA They're probably still around, just not updated! 8y
BookishFeminist @Hooked_on_books Isn't he though? I could stare at it all day 🔥🔥 8y

I'm late posting a #uniquefact about me for #augustphotochallenge #day14! My unique fact: I grew up in England. My family moved from California to Cambridgeshire when I was 3. I used to unconsciously switch from an English accent at school to an American accent at home- had no idea I did it till a friend asked me "Why does your mum talk funny?" ? Pictured: favorite childhood books/authors I might not have discovered if we hadn't moved to England!

TheSpinecrackersBookClub Haha. That's hilarious! Good unique fact 😂 8y
BarbaraJean @TheSpinecrackersBookClub It was pretty funny! Even more hilarious: she eventually asked the "talk funny" question about my entire family, and after getting the answer "Because they're American," she said: "Well, I'm glad you're not American, because I don't like Americans." ??? 8y
mhillis That's funny! I loved the book 8y
BarbaraJean @mhillis It's such a good book! I love the father/son relationship it portrays. 8y

Delayed #uniquefact for the #augustphotochallenge ! In 2007, I wrote and directed an independent film about summer camp counselors (picture Grey's Anatomy at summer camp only not as good). The film has gone into the vault, but I've stayed in touch with a lot of the cast/crew. The twist? Later I learned that there was a book published in 2007 with *the same name that had nothing to do with camp.* Here are some pictures of me directing. 😂

Jenshootsweddings That's definitely unique! Love it. 8y
Gezemice That's amazing! So cool! :) 8y

#uniquefact about me and books: I love plays. I've done theatre my whole life, so a chunk of my bookshelf is filled with plays. These are some of the shows I've worked on as a director or actor. #augustphotochallenge @TheSpinecrackersBookClub

HeatherBookNerd I couldn't post last night, so I thought I catch up this morning! 8y
LauraBeth I ❤️ reading plays also 8y

#UniqueFact 2! I do sassy cross stitch, often feminist, bookish, cursing, or all three. It's the creative outlet I picked up during my treatment from my last post, & it's so fun! Here are some of my projects. As you can see I love stitching but HATE framing. I bribe people to frame for me. 😂

Also thank you all SO MUCH for your love & support on my first post. It means more to me than I can express & am floored by how caring this community is. ❤️

BookishFeminist @Yamich49 the cross stitch you asked me to post! 8y

TheSpinecrackersBookClub Eeeck!! I love these. Would buy them all. 8y
Varshitha These are so amazing😍.. I would buy them as well!! 8y
KateTheBookworm Hahahaha I love it!!! 8y
Sue OMG they are amazing!!! 8y
Trav I'll have one of everything, thanks. 8y
Gayan I also do Subversive Cross Stitch, these are amazing! 8y
Yamich49 Yesssssss!!!! 👍👍👏👏🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️ These are awesome, just like you!! I'm super impressed! I have a book and multiple printed patterns of funny/subversive/feminist cross-stitch designs that I still haven't done. Maybe you'll be my inspiration to start working on them! I have such a hard time focusing for a long time on projects so I tend to start a few of them and then leave them abandoned for months or years at a time. LOL 8y
Yamich49 I also hate finishing projects as well - my old boss would send hers off to get framed. Which would be great - if I had a shit ton of money but alas 💸 8y
BookishFeminist @TheSpinecrackersBookClub @Varshitha I wish I could sell these but I purchased the patterns! 😱 I get really crafty in the wintertime though so it I find some extra time I would l'll send you ladies something! 8y
BookishFeminist @KateTheBookworm @sue Thank you guys!! Hahaha it's a great way to get out my angst TBH 8y
BookishFeminist @Trav Don't tempt me! Seriously though if you send me your address something may show up in your mailbox one day since I stitch way more than I can keep 😱 8y
BookishFeminist @Gayan YES! Thank you! I would LOVE to see your work too. Post it sometime & we can take Litsy by storm. 💪🏼 8y
BookishFeminist @Yamich49 ❤️❤️!! Thank you! You definitely need to get on that subversive cross stitch grind soon! Also there's a reason I posted this instead of my unfinished pile 😂 when I started this hobby back up again I swore to myself I wouldn't let patterns sit unfinished before starting a new one but that lasted maybe a few months LOL. If you need more patterns I have a few trusty etsy shops I frequent for my sassy stuff. 8y
BookishFeminist @Yamich49 So glad you hate it too. Except not really. LOL we can sympathize together. Seriously though about the custom framing thing! I made a wedding sampler for a friend once & went to go price a framing job for it and was like GTFO, SON. I can't. So I will stick with bribing people and continue to complain about how much I hate it. 😂😭 8y
Gleefulreader I love your projects! I, too, am a cross stitch geek although haven't done any projects for a while because of some courses I was taking. Isn't Satsuma Street the best? 8y
LitHousewife I used to cross stitch all the time before my kids came along. By the time I went back my eyes were shit. I need a magnifying thing, even if I always made fun of "old grannies" who used them. I love your projects! I used to do those monster Mirabilia patterns. 8y
LauraBeth ❤️ this! 8y
mhillis These are awesome! 8y
coffeenebula These are amazing! How do I learn how to do this?!? 8y
TheWellReadOwl Ooh! I ❤️! 8y
Pinkmeghan Awesome! I've always wished I was a cross-stitcher! Instead I'm a knitter/crocheter with carpal tunnel lol! That being said there is a subversive cross stitch that I'm dying to try to make so maybe this will inspire me to try it! 8y
Hugoreads I do subversive cross stitch too! "Don't start no shit, won't be no shit" is one of my favorites! 8y
Hugoreads Your work is awesome!🌟🌟 8y
mauveandrosysky I LOVE Subversive Cross Stitch! I'll post one of mine for you later! And I also freaking HATE framing so much...ugh! 8y
Ais Love these!! 8y
Reviewsbylola Read a fucking book is my favorite! 8y
CherylDeFranceschi Love them! 8y
LauraBrook They're all beautiful and awesome, but the upper right is for sure my favorite! 8y
Chessa These are amazing and so are you! I so want to learn to cross stitch! 8y
BooksForYears I agree with @LauraBrook - the upper-right one is my favorite! 8y
sparklemotion This is the best 😂 8y
Eyelit That's awesome! 8y
LeahBergen I can't even begin to express how much I love these! 💗 8y
[DELETED] 3323341091 damn, groovy! 8y
BethM I absolutely love these! You are very talented- you should totally sell them on etsy! 8y
BookishFeminist @Gleefulreader Yes, I love Satsuma Street! Her work is amazing. I need to pick up her DC pattern too & make it for my living room. 😊 you should post some of your past projects! I'd love to see them. 8y
BookishFeminist @LitHousewife How cool! You should post some of your past projects! I'd love to see them. Darn kids getting in the way 😜 I use an Ottlite and view the patterns on my tablet so I can enlarge everything, and that helps significantly with sight issues, though I've still got young eyes. 8y
BookishFeminist @tanya42 Thank you!! ❤️ there's plenty of tutorials online & plenty of beginning patterns & kits on Etsy! Many come with instructions. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it- mostly just counting. 😊 8y
BookishFeminist @Pinkmeghan Oh my goodness, carpal tunnel sucks. My mom does rug hooking & has carpal tunnel so I know how hard it can be to keep up with detailed crafting. Hope it improves! You should definitely give cross stitching a try! IMO it's a little easier than knitting, especially once you get the hang of it. But I'm a big visual learner so that may be why- the colored/blocked patterns appeal to me. 8y
BookishFeminist @Hugoreads YES that's awesome! It's such a great way to get out some frustrations when you want to but can't curse someone out 😜 you should post some of your work, I'd love to see it! 8y
BookishFeminist @mauveandrosysky UGH yes framing is the WORST. My partner does book binding so he actually doesn't mind the pedantic nature of framing projects, so I usually just bribe him to do it. 😜 I LOVE your piece! I might just get the pattern for that one myself, lol. 8y
BookishFeminist @Reviewsbylola Haha thanks!! It's definitely one of my favorites too. It always gets a laugh out of bookish folks. 😊 8y
BookishFeminist @LauraBrook @BooksForYears Thank you!! Haha that one always gets lots of chuckles. I made it when I was angry and it helped 😂 8y
BookishFeminist @Chessa ❤️!! Thank you & right back at you! You should definitely give cross stitching a try- it's not that hard, especially once you get the hang of it. Easy to do while watching tv! 8y
BookishFeminist @BethM thank you!! ❤️ I wish I could sell them! But the patterns are purchased from Etsy & for personal use only. I've been toying with making patterns of my own though so hopefully I can sell them one of these days. For now, I just give them as gifts. 😊 8y
mauveandrosysky @BookishFeminist you totally should! I love doing it while I'm just watching TV or something. I like having something to do with my hands. 😊 8y
BookishFeminist @mauveandrosysky Enabler! I didn't realize #DamnitLitsy would start infiltrating the other non-bookish areas of my life. LOL 8y
mauveandrosysky Mwhahahahahhaa 😈 8y
Trav @BookishFeminist Oh goodness, that would seriously be the best present ever. EVER! 8y
KVanRead ❤️❤️❤️Those are awesome! Love the San Francisco one! 8y
BookishFeminist @KVanRead Thank you!! That one has my favorite memory- my partner @becausetrains and I took a trip out to San Francisco after I finished the bar exam, so I started this on the trip and finished it at home. Hoping to hang it on our wall of travel that we'll get around to making one day. 😊 8y
NatalieR Your work is gorgeous! ❤️ 8y
BookishFeminist @Trav Send me your address and it will happen randomly sometime! I can't keep everything I stitch or else I will have no wall space! 8y
BookishFeminist @NatalieR Thank you so much! Happy to share it with you guys since it brings me so much enjoyment ❤️ 8y
Bette Beautiful and hilarious. Thank you!😍 8y
KVanRead @BookishFeminist What a nice story. Love decorating with things that have a great memory to go along with them. 8y
WordWaller I LOVE THESE SO MUCH *freaking out right now* I've wanted to start back up cross stitching for so long and also starts with swears and books! 😍😍😍 8y
BookishFeminist @WordWaller DO IT DO IT DO IT. So much fun! It's the best in the wintertime when you're stuck inside which is like 8 months in Minnesota 😂😂 I'll recommend some Etsy shops for books & swears for when you want to start! 8y
WordWaller @BookishFeminist oh man, that'd be awesome!! I'm so tired of knitting and need something to help keep me focused on movies when we watch them 8y
BookishFeminist @WordWaller Cross stitch is perfect for TV & movies! I find its harder to lose track because it's a bit more visual than knitting/crochet even though they both can involve extensive counting. 8y
BookishFeminist @WordWaller do you want me to send you recs now or wait until you want to start?? 8y
WordWaller @BookishFeminist go for it now! I'll probably forget later and I don't want to 8y
BookishFeminist @WordWaller ok I'll root around on my Etsy since the names are escaping me and will email them to you! 8y
