#authororcharacterwhosharesyourname I had no idea there were this many books with characters that have my name (list courtesy of GR). Then again, these don't really seem to be the kind of books I'd normally read. 😜#day9 #riotgrams

#riotgrams Day 9: #authororcharacterwhosharesyourname
There's something about this prompt that made my mind go blank. I know I've never read a book by or about an Abbe (not short for Abigail!) but there have to have been some Abbys/Abbeys/Abigails but I couldn't think of a single one. So I went with a book I haven't read yet by the equally unique spelled Abbi Glines. (Though if you can think of any Abbe books...)
#riotgrams #authororcharacterwhosharesyourname I've never fond of my name which I guess hit its heyday in the 60-70s as there were 3 in my kindergarten class. I was forced to be Debra which I hadn't learned to spell since I went by Debbie & I was traumatized.😳Here's 2 authors & a character who share my name (not the spelling for Lawrenson but I forgive her because she writes beautiful books & is a sweet person). Macomber is probably the most...
#riotgrams Day 9: #authororcharacterwhosharesyourname There are a ton of reasons why I'll eventually read War and Peace (a love of Tolstoy, my family's Russian heritage, bragging rights) but one of them is Natasha Rostova, a character who shares my name! I don't see my name very often, though, so it always kind of weirds me out...
I didn't read my first Barbara Kingsolver book until 2015. For some reason, I always felt intimidated by her writing. But upon reading Flight Behavior, I discovered how wrong I was. The book was a delight, and I'm excited to read more of her work!

Although we spell it differently, an enigmatic writer who shares my first name is Sean Virgo. Maltese by birth, he came to Canada in 1966 and has written several works of fiction and poetry. He was the writer-in-residence in Saskatoon in the early 90s and was the MC for an AIDS Awareness Week reading I helped organize of the writings of HIV-positive writers. This is the only Jenny I can think of, crazy because it is such a common name! But this movie came out when I was in school, and for years people would say, "I love you jennay....."
I knew that both my names were in Stephen King books, I just had to remember which ones: UR and Under the Dome. Another reason he's one of my favourites. #authororcharacterwhosharesyourname #riotgrams
So finding #authororcharacterwhosharesyourname was hard. I know Rowley from Diary of a Wimpy Kid thanks to my kids and students, but I went with this author (whose book I haven't read yet) because it's the last name. #riotgrams
#AuthorOrCharacterWhoSharesYourName I haven't read this yet but I've got a thing for memoirs about people leaving fundamentalist or orthodox religious groups (and cults, too). Leah is a Hebrew name and found in the Old Testament ... but I was named after the Roy Orbison song. 😒 #RiotGrams
