The soundtrack of the tagged play was released in 1970 and my dad bought the album. I was 11. Somewhere in the mid 60‘s my mother became a Seventh Day Adventist and our household drastically changed. Listening to this album constantly was an act of rebellion. She HATED it. This clip popped up on IG yesterday so I thought why not share here. I still know all the words.

@TieDyeDude

Suet624 I‘m with you. I know pretty much every word of this play. 7d
Ruthiella I am an atheist and I love this musical. Particularly the film version with Carl Anderson as Judas. What a performance ! 👏👏👏 7d
quietjenn Such a favorite! 7d
TieDyeDude My mom had the soundtrack on vinyl and CD. We didn't have to rebel to listen to it, but it's awesome that you did 😁 3d

“There are shows that turn a theatre into a dark and suffocating coffin. And there are others that turn you on and resuscitate your soul. Life. That‘s the most important thing.”

Right about now, I would love some Snow. It's been a rainy winter so far which is not at all usual.

The tagged represents being cozy indoors, since that's how I listen to it. #two4tuesday

I rarely listen to audiobooks, but make exceptions for memoirs read by the person. I love Randy Rainbow, and hearing him tell the story of his journey from a chubby, awkward kid to YouTube sensation and star of satirical political parodies set to the music of Broadway show tunes was a rollicking ride. He‘s funny & self-effacing, and his brutally honest take on Trump and the GOP makes me LOL. Also loved the stories about his grandmother, Nanny.

LeeRHarry I‘ve just watched his latest video - love him and had no idea that this book existed! Stacked! 😊 6mo

Amiable @LeeRHarry Definitely do the audiobook—I can‘t even fathom reading this without Randy‘s voice! He also just released a book of essays: (edited) 6mo

I can only keep so much fiction in my mind. I can either read one fiction and watch a few shows or read more fiction and watch lots of HGTV or magnolia network for a while. At the same time I'm listening to audiobooks, always nonfiction. Or podcasts.

BookmarkTavern I need to add more nonfiction to my TBR! Thanks for posting! 7mo

Getting into this on audio, finally. Also began dismantling my garden for the season. Going to overwinter a tomato plant and see how that goes. #gardening #litsygardens

Twitter coming in hot with the commentary on Mary Rodgers' excellent memoir! Though she is often recognized in connection with her legendary composer father, Richard Rodgers, and her Tony award-winning son, Adam Guettel, Mary was an award-winning composer and author herself. Come for the scathing one-liners and take-downs (Arthur Laurents gets gloriously dragged); stay for the honesty of a woman who was outspoken, complicated, and gutsy as hell.

willaful Does it mention her children's books? 9mo
Andrea313 Yes, she discusses that writing later in the book, and touches very briefly on the various film adaptations, too. 9mo

Not a lot of reading today because I was seeing a matinee of The Lion King. It‘s been years since I‘d seen the show and the production was just as impressive as the first time. I love the way it uses puppetry to tell the story.
