Sharpeipup Katherine McGee, Cecilia Ahern & Thomas Pynchon. They bring tea, scones, and an apology. The first two are invited because I love their books & I hope they spill details on their upcoming books. Thomas is invited because he owes me for reading Gravity‘s Rainbow. 1mo
Liatrek 1. I would invite GRR Martin and he would bring finished copies of Winds of Winter and a Dream of Spring. He is invited because he will bring me the finished books in the series.
2. I would invite Octavia Butler and she would bring notes and early drafts of her published books. I would love to see her writing process and thoughts on her stories and characters. She is invited because her writings are original and thought provoking.

AHHHH MY FIRST SEMESTER OF GRAD SCHOOL IS DONE. Chronic illness stuff has been acting up lately so I barely made it through, but now I am done, and in 7 hours I will be starting my ~12 hour journey home to NC for Christmas. Hopefully that means lots of reading.🤞 Audible gave me free books in a settlement thing, so I also have 3 new audiobooks to look forward to! (After I finish my current reads 😂)

Eggbeater Congrats on finishing your first semester! 🎉👏👏👏 1mo

Cold Moon. A day late, but we did a full moon "ritual" last night.

I'm releasing negative thoughts, self-doubt, and trying to please everyone.

Blessings on all of you!

Pickpick

The Chrestomanci books (which I read wildly out of order) are high on my list of favorite children's fantasy novels. These charming novels are fun, imaginative, and have great characters. #parallelworlds #magic #goddess

I‘ve always had a special devotion to Mary Magdalene, and I found this book on our shelves by sheer chance one night. I turned around, and there she was. Looking forward to possibly getting to just sit with this at work tonight! #marymagdalenebrideinexile #marymagdalene #maryofmagdala #margaretstarbird #biblicalwomen #womenofhistory #womenofthechurch

Pickpick

Imagine the weirdest thing you can, ramp it up 10-20 levels high & yet you might not grasp the weirdness in this bk. Am not sure who this bk is for but it isn't for everybody. Read this book with an open mind & make your own conclusions. I liked it, just not enuf to re-read it.I'll post a detailed review on this soon. I still am planning on reading the next in the series as it is about yet another intriguing & much misunderstood topic: Kundalini.

This comment seems to be referring to people who, as my friend once said, go on spiritual shopping, people, who go shopping for gurus & spiritual experiences. Who hasn't? In this age of turmoil, pain & desperation??

blurb
rrkreads

"Meera understood how important it is to have a Guru. Most knowledge you can pick up from somewhere, but until you put it into practice, it remains as a mere intellectual understanding. The Guru forces you to learn it, he rubs your face into the ground until you learn it, if he is a real Guru."

There are also comments on modern age "gurus", fascinating!

quote
rrkreads

"Has the Kundalini Shakti become so cheap that some so-called godman can awaken it in multitudes of people all at once? Oh, no! Were our Rishis (ancient seers) fools to spend decades out in the jungles working at hard penances to awaken Kundalini and to perfect Aghora? No, the people who think they can buy Kundalini are the fools."

Woah! Strong, honest words! Am barely in the 23rd page & I simply can't put it down!
