I was tagged again, so here are some more favorites. Because I‘m such a hobbit! There were probably not bananas in the Shire, but they would love it if they tried banana bread! These are ones they‘d more likely make:
1. Cherry pie
2. Carrot cake
3. Peach cobbler

I read one of my favorite stories again for a couple of reasons this month! It was my #bookspin but I am also pregnant!!! My mom read to me throughout her whole pregnancy, and I want to carry on that tradition! What better book to start with than this?! My hubby and I are so excited to welcome our little hobbit next May!! 😊🥳💜

1. I think the oldest thing I own is a book about Chicago published in 1880. It talks about the city‘s history, interesting stories, and sites to see when visiting. Beautiful illustrations throughout. It‘s a really cool little book.
2. I would love for The Hobbit, or a book like it, to still be relevant in 100 years. It‘s what got me into reading and I hope it holds the same magic for future generations too.

Happy Hobbit Day!!!! #FellowsipOfTolkien
I celebrate today with this quote because it resonates so deeply with my life in this moment.
Tolkien's words, as usual, guide and comfort me.

“Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?”

This was fun!! The bottom three are villains that frightened the life out of me as a child!! I‘m sure they meant the singular man in Bambi, I‘m using it to mean mankind. Also, if you‘re playing a fascist/Nazi automatic villain!! Missing from the list are my two favorite villains, Moriarty from Sherlock and Loki. (if you get redemption arc, are you still a villain?)
Care to play?
Look it‘s just a really magical story isn‘t it? Perhaps the only thing more magical than reading it yourself for the first time, is reading it to someone else for their first time (even if they‘re a bit too little to remember it). Already looking forward to reading this together again.
#SummerSouls Day 2: #mountains reminded me of a Poetry Friday feature Iphigene once shared on GatheringBooks with the ballad Far Over the Misty Mountain here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-8PY
