Pickpick

An absolutely exquisite comedy of manners, satirising the classist oneupmanship in a women‘s literary lunch club in the Edwardian era.

Book 73/80 #Read2025 @DieAReader

Texreader Yay for #letterX. Always a hard one! 5d
DieAReader 🎉Great!! 5d
wildwoodreads I have never read any Edith Wharton but I‘m thinking of reading this October. Have you read them? Any thoughts? 5d
TheEllieMo @wildwoodreads I confess, Xingu is my first Wharton, though on the strength of this one, I definitely want to read more of her. 4d

Annnnd... once again I just plain adore an Olympus, Inc book. This one's a sapphic (both MCs are bi) romantic suspense. It's set in an island festival, with the romance being between a single-mum burlesque performer and a fallen-from-grace influencer/photographer. It's body positive and sex work positive and fun. Also, there are murders.

Extra kudos to Healey for writing an X book to finish off my #LitsyAtoZ #LitsyAtoZ2025 @TexReader #LetterX

Lauredhel Though this is a story in its own right, I'd say you would benefit from reading at least Ask Cassandra and Love, Laodice first. But then you should go back and read the first trilogy too, trust me. 2w

Mehso-so

Isla accepts an invitation to spend Christmas with her estranged sister Clara, but isn‘t too happy about it. When Isla and her husband arrive, Clara and her husband act strangely, and Isla is suspicious. The twist felt a little too contrived maybe, but this is novella length, so maybe that‘s not totally fair to say? 🤔
Not totally horrible but forgettable.

March was another excellent reading month for me. I read 4 Jane Harper books for #authoramonth, 3 of which are also for #serieslove2024. I read 4 books for #SouthKorea #foodandlit (5 when I finish the tagged book—I couldn‘t squeeze it in for March) and 5 for #readingOceania (Pacific worked for two challenges). XOXO worked for the ever-difficult #letterX for #litsyatoz @Soubhiville @Catsandbooks @Andrew65 @TheSpineView @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB

Librarybelle Awesome job!! 1y

I‘m going way outside my comfort zone for my next ebook for #SouthKorea but opted for it because it also satisfies the #letterX for #litsyatoz, which is always hard to find. #foodandlit @Catsandbooks

Catsandbooks This one is on my TBR! 1y
