I broke my Sunday “pjs only” rule today to meet friends for Mexican at a not-that-new-but-new-to-me place in my neighborhood. The enchiladeas suizas were worth being dressed & in public & inspired today‘s haiku.

I love the southwestern editions of these Golden West cookbooks. But, I think I‘m going to pass on this recipe for tamales. I would try them if they were made for me, but I think finding 4 cups of sheep blood in my corner of the world would be a task. 😏

Years ago, I made the Jericalla (Cinnamon Egg Custard) one night. This wasn‘t my first time making a custard and I was eager to try this. I used several sticks of cinnamon instead of just the one. It was AMAZING. Today, I decided to do it again, but this time, I used a homemade apple pie spice blend instead of cinnamon sticks. Omg it smells amazing!!! Don‘t be afraid to try your hand at custard. It‘s easy! Just remember to use low heat, &:

I've had this cookbook for a long time and have made many dishes. The Yucatan Lime Chicken Soup is an old favorite!!!
