Val is always a solid 4 star read for me.
I love her characters, their relationships and the very realistic growth they show.

Karen and her cold cases are quickly becoming my most favourite. The way Val structure these stories makes it page turners even knowing there's no life to save at the end.

This installment had a very intriguing plot and is set during COVID, so every normal thing had to be done slightly differently.

I love Colgan‘s books & Mure is one of my favorite settings. Warm, cozy, funny and just what I want and expect from this author.

A mutilated body washes up near the shores of Loch Ness. Logan with a new team, investigates this grizzly murder.A woman publishes pictures of the area which creates a “the Loch Ness monster did it!” frenzy. Questions arise of possible occult,& organized crime involvement. Again, another unforeseen (to me) ending that is twisted & dark. #serieslove2025

4.5 Rounded up to 5

A suicide 6 months ago. A body found in a burned barn. What do they have in common? Maybe, secrets. In the 10th book in the Kate Burkholder Series by Linda Castillo, Kate is trying to figure these things out. Kate Burkholder is the Police Chief of Planters Mill, Ohio. She grew up Amish but left the way at 18. Kate has now found herself investigating why the fire started. The more she digs, the more she realizes ⬇️

MonicaLoves2Read the person wasn't as good as people thought.

Castillo continues to develop all the characters in the Kate Burkholder Series. In this book, one gets what they have been hoping for for a while. I love how Castillo draws me in at the beginning of the book, and I keep trying to figure out who the culprit is. This time, I was so far off base. Highly recommend this series.

#serieslove2025 a CDC doctor gets taken , a month later,a big blast near CDC , a university,2 hospitals and a FBI field office. As Sarah and Will rush to the scene ,chaos ensues,Sarah is abducted, and there is no doubt a larger conspiracy is at hand.
Dark forces have bigger plans , both Will and Sarah will be challenged to even survive, let alone stop a group who doesn‘t tip their hand about the plan . Very intense read .

Harbinder has moved to London for a promotion, and her first major case involves an MP who‘s murdered at a school reunion. While the ending is a little too tidy, I found this a satisfying installment in the series. I read book 2 out of order and then went back to the first book. Now I‘m ready for the next. #serieslove2025

Susanita I‘m also pleased that Harbinder has a girlfriend now. 5d

Finished last weekend for #NancyDrewBR I can only restate that I really need to review these right after I‘ve finished them as it all kind of blends together after a crazy workweek.🤷🏻‍♀️What I do remember for sure is *small spoiler alert* there were no knockouts for Nancy‘s noggin so the #NNK remains at 9/20.🤕This is good for Nanner‘s poor head since she was knocked out twice in the last book & her noggin needed ⬇️

DebinHawaii …a break. There was not quite as much danger/action in this one. It does make me laugh that River Heights is always where all the people end up in a nice coincidence so Nancy can solve her mysteries. Here it‘s a disposed Queen & then we end up with multiple of her citizens as well so Nancy can conveniently find a missing Prince. 👑 Anyway, I do remember some of this one from childhood & it gets a pick. Discussion is tomorrow. 1w

This is a low pick for me. I much prefer The Thursday Murder Club series and those wonderful characters. This was just forgettable to me but I will probably read book two. Maybe it will provide a stronger connection to the characters.

While I enjoyed this book, it was not as good as the first book. I didn't like the characters and the plot as much. Very steamy like book one and dark so read the trigger warnings. 3.5⭐️ #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65
