I enjoyed this like most St. Mary's books but it was very much telenovella levels of drama for Max et al. Like I know this are OTT and silly but also there was a lot of bad things happening to good people and it kind of was a downer. Very much not the most optimistic episode in the series.

julesG Not one of my favourites either. 5mo

This short story is even better the second time around. I previously just listened to all the short stories (1 released each Christmas) but now I‘m reading the entire series in order for #serieslove2023. It‘s even sweeter having read it this way and I can‘t wait to start the next book. Love love love this series. @julesG I understand why you keep rereading the series!! @TheSpineView @Andrew65

julesG Can you believe book 14 is releasing in less than a month? 1y
Texreader @julesG I had no idea! Have you also read the Time Police books? 1y
TheSpineView Fantastic! 1y

julesG Yes, I've read the TP books. I think I read the first TP (Doing Time) after book 10 (Hope for the Best). I wouldn't read the TP series before that point. In the short "And Now For Something Completely Different" (#9.7) Jodi's intro says she was fiddling with the idea of the TP. So it seems most natural to read it either before book 10 or just after. 1y
julesG Having read an ARC for book 14, I am tempted to say, wait until you've read all 14 St Mary's books and then read TP. Then again, there are no spoilers for St Mary's in the TP books and vice versa. 1y
Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 1y

I‘m going to sneak in this short audiobook. I‘ve already read it years ago but since I‘ve started the series from the beginning, I‘m going to listen to this one again so I stay in order. And this author just puts me in a good mood. #serieslove2023 @TheSpineView @Andrew65

julesG My daughter started listening to Christmas Past before leaving for school. 😁 Made me rethink my listening plans for today. 🤪 1y

Apparently 5 years ago I highlighted and photographed this quote! I sill adore this world but have got a little lost. Debating whether to re read or just dive in and try

tokorowilliamwallace Yeah, in the current dystopic sci-fi techno-thriller I'm reading the director of the entire program had his secondhand woman manager genetically-designed at birth but this meant she was barren, and she definitely felt that hole in her life. Lots of themes that you can progress technologically and societally supposedly, but you can't take the human nature out, especially the desire to dominate. Patriarchy still reared its ugly head. 3y

First book of the new year is finished! This one was darker than her usual rollicking style but still entertaining.

I loved finally getting the backstory for Mrs Mack, Mrs Enderby, and Mrs Shaw. The ending made me tear up, but there‘s plenty of St. Mary‘s laughter sprinkled throughout the rest of the tale.

julesG I've had tears in my eyes every time I've read this. 3y
DGRachel @julesG I really loved this one. 3y

4-10-21: My 36th finished book of 2021! Book 8 in the series finds Max and her family going through some very hard times. While St. Mary‘s gets through all its time travel intact for once, Max has to face some major hardships. As usual, there is a lot of jumping around the time line, humor, and fascinating historical moments. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍🏼📖#️⃣3️⃣6️⃣ #andtherestishistory #joditaylor

#BookReport and #WeeklyForecast! Some planned reading got derailed this week when I got a 7-day skip-the-line loan of Caste, my BLM book group‘s pick for February. That expires tomorrow & I‘m only halfway, so it‘ll stay in progress till my regular hold comes in. But I finished two, started Angel of the Crows, and continued to love re-reading Windy Poplars for #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead. Hoping to make a bigger dent in the library pile this week!

Cinfhen Love when the #LibraryGods bestow unexpected goodness and joy 😊❣️🙌🏻 4y
