As for the questions, I definitely go rogue with the whole experience, from books chosen to snacks chosen. Oftentimes, I don‘t even set a goal since I often choose something different to focus on (whether page count or hours total) once I get started. I do love jelly babies and fruit snacks always!

Today I am sad. My puppy ate four (4!) of my books. They were all newly purchased. Started reading this the other day. Trying to read a little bit every evening. Also trying to finish some of the books I've started, but never finished.

Could not resist one more sun poem. I hang this poem up in winter to read when it‘s so cold I hate to leave my toasty bed. My bed is next to an east facing window so the sun streams in.

I find a new gem every time I re-read Mary Oliver. I read "Strawberry Moon" for the first time last night and it blew me away.

Not that I ever really finish a poetry book, but it feels like time to move on to Volume 2.
I have been reading a couple of these poems every morning, to start my day. Each morning I can be sure she'll point out some "ordinary" thing and it will shine with meaning and wonder. She is a remarkable poet who writes in the language of field, wood and seashore, not that of the PhD thesis. Her poems challenge me to love this world and to love being here.

Wound up ready for work 40 minutes early this morning. Sneaking in a little reading and snuggling time.
