Total proud slut here. This book is fascinating for both the author's stories (I'm always here for stories of 5 rebound sex in a day) and the theories/research/knowledge about sexuality. Who knew there was a socio-sexuality orientation? But now I do, and it's helpful to understand my own sexuality.

Cute and funny, but not laugh out loud funny. Definitely worth the read though.

So I'll admit I totally chose this book for the cover. She's super attractive and caught my eye - that means it must be good right? Nope 👎 The characters felt super fake and I just couldn't keep going. And I hate giving up on books. Ugh.

Finished this in two days. Having grown up in Asia, the drama and the crazy parenting resonates with me and makes me appreciate that my own mother is not that bat s*** crazy 🤣. As I said before, the narrator is amazing. The story can be convoluted at times, and it did feel a bit longer than necessary, but honestly that just made it feel more real to me, because Asian family dramas *are* often convoluted and last way more years than they should 🙄

Listening to Michael Booth talk about massaging Japanese cattle and feeding them beer. What could be more entertaining? 🍺🐂🇯🇵

However, in contrast with the narrator of Rich People Problems (see below), this #audiobook narrator cannot pronounce Japanese correctly to save his life. As a Japanese speaker, this is incredibly annoying and confusing.

Super impressed with the narrator of this audiobook. She manages to have different voices for the 5 million characters in this book, with distinct (but not caricature) accents and correct pronunciations of the Chinese words. 👏👏👏

I'm actually understanding the book better this way rather than visually reading it (romanizing Chinese words are 💩)

Major problem of mine: I have way too many books going at once. Here's 4 of my current 14. I'm so moody that something has to fit my specific mood. #nowreading

It's well researched, but the author was so obviously biased. Achievements of the administration were rarely touted. Instead, it seems like the emphasis was unfairly placed on only criticisms. Though the author does a good job portraying the facts, she does not show both sides.

Listened to it in 3 days. The story is intriguing, and I love how it explores the struggles of women and Chinese Americans. So many of the struggles resonate with me on such a personal level. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ 5 hearts!

Silly fun for when I don't want to think too hard. I swear she's writing about my life.
