I love that Book of the Month is offering more early exclusives, like this one from the TBR list. Finally settling in to start it today! The book jacket is calling it “the must read thriller of 2018”!

It‘s worth noting that the US edition is titled “The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hugo”
This book won‘t drop in the UK until Feb 2018 and in Sept. for US readers (get a copy earlier from Book Depository 😂) but mystery and time travel lovers should put it on your TBR list now. This book was a devilishly good mystery and a morality tale all in one, full off so many clever threads it was actually fun to lose track and let the mystery unfold. 5 stars

Why did I have to start reading this book during NaNoWriMo? It‘s devilishly good and I just can‘t stop reading!

This mystery is all about the long game and the payoff is soo devastatingly good.

This thriller is perfect for readers who like a hint of unreliable narration, and character history doled out in clever little morsels. 5 Stars

The idea of someone not only impersonating me online but posting images of me and my family is a legitimately terrifying thought! More than any imagined monster. Enjoying this one so far!

I think today's the day I finally finish the newest TOG book! I'm enjoying it thus far, but I still have about 1/4 of the book left, which we all know means things can still go terribly awry for our lead characters!
UPDATE: I did finish and LOVED it. Another 5 star SJM for this reader!

Picked up a new book at Golden Hare Books in Edinburgh! My lack of posts has been due to adventure prep, and then the adventure itself, but I'm returning to the states soon, and with a few little goodies for my Litsy pen pals, @Yellowpigeon and @GinEyre22

So excited to be diving into Leigh Bardugo's version of Diana's life!

This book was full of major personal selling points: Magic, incredible relationships with animals, postcards, people who give instead of only taking, pancakes, bees.
The biggest selling point of all is the earnestness with which Ruth Emmie Lang presents her protagonist.

Included in my #24in48 TBR pile is Fitness Junkie, which I hope is more about skewering the diet and fitness industry and the unfair standards of female beauty than it is about making it seem like fun!

This is one of the best books I've read this summer.
One of the few where I actually forgot that I was reading, I was so absorbed by the characters and all that was happening.
A beautiful story without all the gross sensationalism of modern celebrity. #bookofthemonth

This is a beautiful piece of literary fiction, full of the kind of writing, and a writer main character that will make you yearn to be a sitting behind your own typewriter. The book explores identity and the need to create in a uniquely beautiful way.

I was initially interested in this book as winter lasts around 6 months where I live in Upstate NY, but there are great ways to live Hygge all year long.

This book has recorded a lot of mixed reviews, but I personally loved it. Strange and complicated with bouts of fantastic, it was an interesting world to be in.

I truly enjoyed this unique mystery set in a world where after a certain age people only remember either a day's worth of memories, or two day's worth if you happen to be one of the advantageous duos. Exploring a world with a limited memory is every bit as fun as trying to figure out whodunnit.

I loved this sequel to The Flight of the Silvers! While I was a little worried about how things were progressing and where things were going in the beginning, by the end I loved all the twists.

Only a few pages in but just like with Mr. Penumbra, I'm intrigued!

I loved Evangeline as a main character and was rooting for her and her family in this bittersweet story of creating a life worth living in the face of tragedy.

This is the Circles of Change Book Club pick for June, and it's a compelling read for anyone who has struggled, or who is currently struggling with disordered eating. That being said, if you're still struggling or have yet to receive treatment, this book could be a triggering or difficult read. Told entirely in prose, this story captures the struggles of change and control, and how we become our own person.

I wanted to like this book more than I did because of how much I admire Krysten Ritter as a creative force. However, I never ended up connecting with the main character enough. Abby felt a little flat, like when someone mistakes a collection of flaws as being the same thing as being interesting. The mysteries of the story were more layered than I expected, but none of the payoffs felt as satisfying as I had hoped.

I truly enjoyed this smart little tale. More books should address the cultural issues like how boys are socialized different than girls, inclusion of transgendered children, and what it means to feel "other". There's both whimsy and horror in this book and I look forward to reading the other books I this universe.

This week's Top 10 Tuesday is all about series we mean to start reading. This is one that's on the top of my list!

This was a taut read, full on unreliable narration and uncomfortable ideas. I read it in a single day, staying up late to finish it, haunted by it before I fell asleep.

There are few characters that I adore as much as I do Flavia 💜 I can't recommend these books enough.
