Just a little check in for #BookFitnessChallenge
I‘ve got my steps and yoga in everyday so far! This is my second book finished. It‘s been rainy so I can‘t get outside too much, but hopefully in the next few days, so I can do an audio walk! 🤗 keep up the great work everyone! #BFC
Morning everyone! I have a package arriving today which means hanging around at home until it comes - so a good excuse for a reading day! I finished up Everless today... and was so disappointed. The premise is really cool - time is literally money - but the plot relies too heavily on inexplicably terrible decisions and secrets that are kept secret FOR NO REASON other than to advance the plot. And the characters are boring. Ugh.
Pretty typical YA fantasy book. But, I think it was better executed than many of its counterparts. I loved the blood-time currency concept and appreciated the focus on friendship over romance. I think I need to take a YA break soon, but I‘d definitely recommend this one over a lot of others I‘ve read recently.
Another blame it on Litsy read that didn't disappoint. I never would have picked up this book if I didn't see so many people talk about this book and the book that comes after it Evermore. It took me awhile to get into it but once I didn't I didn't want to put it down. Off to read Evernore and find out what happens to Jules!
It's actually 106. For some reason it's not counting the tagged book that I finished today. Oh well. My goal was 85 this year so I'm happy with where I finished.
It's still about 4 hours until midnight here but Happy New Year!
Catching up to these before Christmas
#AdventRecommends by @emilyrose_x day 22.
If you like a good fantasy world with corrupt government, this might be a book for you. It takes the saying time is money quite literally.
The sequel is coming out really soon I think. So it might be a good time to give it a chance if you think you'll like it.
I absolutely LOVED the premise for the book. The idea that time is contained in blood, which is then extracted and turned into currency is fascinating. And the societal implications of such a world are endless. Admittedly, I read this during a really busy month for me, so I had a bit of trouble getting totally invested in the story, but with the release of Evermore I‘m really looking forward to re-entering this world.
I really liked this book! I enjoyed that there were a lot pieces to the puzzle throughout the story, but it wasn't necessarily obvious how they all went together and where the twists and turns of the story were going to take you.
My only complaint is that the ending left me with so many questions, and now I have to wait until December for the sequel. 😢😂
Enjoying some reading time this afternoon. This book was a Teacher Appreciation Week gift from one of my students last year. She even wrote a little note in it for me. I'm finally getting a chance to read it, and enjoying it so far! #englishteacher #teachersoflitsy
@Wife - Thanks again for this tea Vickie! It's soooo good! It's so cinnamony and perfect!🔥
“In the kingdom of Sempra, time is currency—extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one‘s own lifespan. The rich aristocracy, like the Gerlings, tax the poor to the hilt, extending their own lives by centuries.”
I need the second book to come out now!
Jules knows her father is getting sick and she is desperate enough to do anything to save him. Even if it means going against her father‘s wishes and volunteering to work as maid at the Everless estate. An estate that Jules grew up on, an estate that belongs to her old playmate, an estate that has secrets her father doesn't want her to find out.

A unique and strange enchanted story.
I was pleasantly surprise. I didn't wanted to read it but after being told many times to read it, I decided to give it a try.
I was so intrigued about where this book was going, I couldn't put it down.
I never saw the ending coming it was shocking and perfect.
The only thing I didn't like was how quick the story was told, i felt like there was missing pieces to puzzle but there will be a sequel.
This was an anticipated read for me ever since last year. I'm so mad I waited so long to read it, but holy crap was it worth the wait! I was blown away with this novel and I can't wait till the sequel. This book is now in my top 10 favorites of all time. I highly recommend you pick this one up.
I don‘t even know where to start. I bought this book on a whim honestly. I liked the cover(ha ha ha) but dear god this book swept me away and I couldn‘t get enough. This being Holland‘s first book she is an amazing story teller and I can‘t wait to see where she takes this series. She‘s built herself an amazing world that I can‘t wait to revisit...I am salty tho I didn‘t realize it was a series and now I just want answers 😭 #bookprobs #book2please
Everless came out at the beginning of this year. I remember reading the plot of the book, and deciding then that I didn‘t want to read it. This is a world where time is currency. Tax collectors can extract years from your life through your blood, and the rich can live forever. I‘m really glad that I gave this book a chance. It‘s so good! I kind of spoiled myself by reading a few reviews, but the surprises at the end were still shocking.
Thanks for the tag @jfalkens !! Always love a chance to win things and what a fun giveaway @Mommamanzi ! The book I tagged was a good one that I‘ve read fairly recently and the other litens I‘ll tag @GeekGirlOnAQuest @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego and @Captivatedbybooks Sorry if you‘ve already been tagged!
The MC Jules is a lier. Then she calls people her friends whom she bearly even knows and then when they do something to show they are clearly not her friends, she butt hurt. Then something else in the story happens and she‘s all like I need to save my friend now.But wait I thought they weren‘t your friend and we both realized that. Ok. She does everything in her power to save said friend, only to realize she been played yet again. The book sucked.
