After a stressful few months, I‘m finally starting to get back into reading and found the perfect place to do it
Overall, I‘m giving this one a 4/5! I‘ve finally read a book that got me out of the slump I‘ve been on and I‘ve discovered that I really like Alice Feeney‘s writing! The only reason why I didn‘t give it a full 5 stars is because of the intertwined characters with alternating viewpoints made me feel like I missed things and need to reread this. It was my first Authentic Books box and I loved it!
I‘ve been in a reading slump since April….haven‘t been able to finish anything that I start. Hopefully this can break the funk!
New favorite place for some morning reading….the deck!
For those of you that have had BOTM and Authentic Book Club, which did you enjoy more and why? I currently have BOTM, but was debating changing it up with Authentic Book Club. Thanks in advanced!
Probably the biggest slump I‘ve ever been in….only read 8 books this year. Between crazy stretches at work, significant fatigue when off, and moving into a new home, finding enjoyment in reading has been difficult. Now that I have a few days off, time to get back on track and reset!
Finally starting this TBR on our beach vaca!
Getting some final@porch reading in before we move into the new home!
After reading Big Little Lies and The Husband‘s Secret, my goal for this summer is to read all of Liane Moriarty‘s books!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 great novel about love, loss, and finding yourself. Would highly recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5. This book was a very informative discussion on many of the problems/barriers that both patients and providers face in healthcare. As a Physician Assistant, this was very eye opening to read and has given me some information to bring to the table at work. I did find some parts dry and found it difficult to focus and want to read if it was a long week at work.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5. Overall I really enjoyed this book. Kindred discusses his grandson‘s addiction to alcohol. Most books on addiction focus on opiate or illicit drug use that I‘ve read, so this was a welcome change of pace. He also dives into his grandson‘s world of train-hopping which was quite interesting to read. Be ready to tear up at the end!
Box came and I finally got that BFF status! 📚🤩💁🏻♀️
Latest library find! Love that the new library in walking distance is finally open!
Finally have a day off to start this one! Had to check out the new library that opened by me! 📚
This Brumate is the perfect no spill travel coffee mug with locking lid if you‘re looking for one!
Finally starting this one to get a break from the stressful week of house hunting
Finally finished this gem! Another reason why I love Kristin Hannah. I loved Elsa‘s development throughout the novel. It was a great depiction of the struggles during the time period. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
Finished this gem in 5 days (fast for me)! Overall enjoyed the plot and characters. Someone of the twists were predictable, but others weren‘t. The only difficulty I had in reading it was the frequent use of long, run-on sentences. Can‘t wait to read something else by Taylor Adams! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Mediocre start with a plot twisted ending ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. Overall I was disappointed that it did not dive into Rose Gold‘s childhood and Munchausen by proxy as much as I thought. I also found most of the characters unlikeable, which made the story difficult to get through at times.
Finished this last night, and it was sooo good! The middle was a little slow for me, but was not expecting that end AT ALL. I enjoyed the Greek tragedy tie in. Can‘t wait for the next book by this author!
Loving my new reading journal!
Finally starting this one....long overdue on my TBR list!
Snowy Saturday calls for some self care #botm
Starting this today....after a heavy read, sometimes you just need a little sassy humor
Finished this today with such mixed feelings. The book follows Bythe and her struggles with motherhood. I enjoyed the writing, the chapters about her past, and the beginning half of the book. The last portion was difficult to read, feeling flat and dragged on. Her husband was made to seem so loving and supportive that the fact that he did not support her in the feuds with her daughter did not match with who he was made out to be. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
