Book of the Month November spoilers just confirmed! #bookofthemonth #botm
26 // THE INVITED // “How could she explain it? This feeling she had, uncovering little pieces of truth about these women and the lives they led. It was like Hattie wanted her to find them.” ⭐️⭐️1/2 #jessicareads2019 #theinvited
These are my picks for BOTM! I thought most of the main choices were not appealing, but there are a wealth of great add-on books! #botm
25 // RUN AWAY // “Once one lie is let into the room, even for the best of reasons, a whole bunch more will ride in on its back. Then those lies will gang up and slaughter the truth.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 #jessicareads2019 #runaway
24 // WAITING FOR TOM HANKS // “Love is complicated is what I‘m saying. It relies on fate and Peter Gallagher falling into a train track and, more often than you would find plausible, comas.” ⭐️⭐️ #waitingfortomhanks #jessicareads2019
23 // WINTER IN PARADISE // “Love is messy, complicated, and unfair.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #winterinparadise #jessicareads2019
22 // THE GIRL IN THE TOWER // “Every time you take one path, you must live with the memory of the other: of a life left unchosen. Decide as seems best, one course or the other; each way will have its bitter with its sweet.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #thegirlinthetower #jessicareads2019
21 // THE SUN DOES SHINE // “I was afraid every single day on death row. And I also found a way to find joy every single day. I learned that fear and joy are both a choice.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #thesundoesshine #jessicareads2019
20 // HER ONE MISTAKE // “I would never take my eyes off my children again. I would never let them run through the trees where I couldn‘t see them or play hide and seek in the sand dunes where the grass was so high it devoured them. I would never trust anyone not to be lurking a breath away from me, ready to snatch my children.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 #heronemistake #jessicareads2019
18 // DAISY JONES AND THE SIX // “Life is about who is holding your hand and, I think, whose hand you commit to holding.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 #daisyjonesandthesix #jessicareads2019 #botm
19 // WHEN YOU READ THIS // “Sometimes I cry as hard as I can for as long as I can, as if eventually I will be finished. Like grief is a marathon and I just have to log enough miles.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #whenyoureadthis #jessicareads2019
17 // THE GILDED WOLVES // “Wolves were everywhere. In politics, on thrones, in beds. They cut their teeth on history and grew fat on war.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #thegildedwolves #jessicareads2019 #botm
16 // A CURSE SO DARK AND LONELY // “I am always surprised to discover that when the world seems darkest, there exists the greatest opportunity for light.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #acursesodarkandlonely #jessicareads2019
15 // THE WONDERING YEARS // “We have been marginalized not because we‘re being persecuted, but because of the broken method we use to try to connect with the world and the culture surrounding us.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 #thewonderingyears #jessicareads2019
14 // WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES // “There is nothing worse, not even the daily hell of the ghetto, than for a mother to live with such fear and uncertainty about the fates of her children.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #weweretheluckyones #jessicareads2019
So excited to get Taylor Jenkins Reid‘s newest novel with Book of the Month this month. I also added Emily Henry‘s new book because I loved A Million Junes! #botm

11 // A VERY LARGE EXPANSE OF SEA // “I looked out at the world around me and no longer saw nuance. I saw nothing but the potential for pain and the subsequent need to protect myself, constantly.” ⭐️⭐️ #jessicareads2019
10 // THE DREAMERS // “This is how the sickness travels best: through all the same channels as do fondness and friendship and love.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #thedreamers #jessicareads2019
9 // A HEART IN A BODY IN THE WORLD // “Oh, every person is a book with chapters. Some are glorious and some are dark and ugly. Every person survives something. We should get a patch for it.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Super excited for the extra books in addition to my February pick! What are you getting this month? #botm #bookofthemonth
8 // MY SISTER, THE SERIAL KILLER // “You have to choose a side, and my lot was cast long ago. She will always have me and I will always have her; no one else matters.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#mysistertheserialkiller #jessicareads2019
7 // I‘LL BE GONE IN THE DARK // “‘Why are you so interested in crime?‘ people ask me, and I always go back to that moment in the alley, the shards of a dead girl‘s Walkman in my hands. I need to see his face. He loses his power when we know his face.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
#illbegoneinthedark #jessicareads2019
6 // AN ANONYMOUS GIRL // “Every lifetime contains pivot points—sometimes flukes of destiny, sometimes seemingly preordained—that shape and eventually cement one‘s path.” ⭐️⭐️
#ananonymousgirl #jessicareads2019
5 // DRY // “Wasn't it Jacqui who told us the human body is sixty percent water? Well, now I know what the rest is. The rest is dust, the rest is ash, it's sorrow and it's grief... But above all that, in spite of all that, binding us together... is hope. And joy. And a wellspring of all the things that still might be.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
#dry #jessicareads2019

#thewickedking #jessicareads2019
3 // SKYWARD // “You watch yourself," I said, wishing I had something to stand on to bring my eyes level with his. "When you are broken and mourning your fall from grace, I will consume your shadow in my own, and laugh at your misery.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #jessicareads2019
2 // NO EXIT // “There‘s a time, deep into the night, when the forces of evil are said to be at their strongest. The witching hour, Darby‘s mom used to call it, with a silly little voodoo twang to her voice.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 #jessicareads2019
1 // Queen of Air and Darkness // “Sympathy is common. Knowing the exact shape of the hole someone‘s loss leaves in your heart is rare.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #jessicareads2019
The main character Asha was well characterized. I found her to be a really strong, yet flawed character and watching her growth through the story was really lovely. I also enjoyed the world building and mythology surrounding the story. The interspersed fables were woven into the narrative really well and didn't take me out of the story like in some books. There were a few plot developments that I thought were done well and that surprised me.
Finally posting my #spookathon TBR! I have already read The Night Sister and started Even the Darkest Stars. Are you participating?
My favorite genre to read in the fall/winter months is fantasy. I finished One Dark Throne earlier this week and hope to get to these other new releases soon once I have finished my spooky books for October readathons. Thoughts on any of these?

Here's part of my library haul this month! My library finally got in a bunch of YA new releases and I pounced on them. I am going to read either The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding or One of Us is Lying when I finish my current read. Thoughts of either of those?

An Enchantment of Ravens is the Fae book I have always wanted. The Fae mythology is interesting and unique. The writing style of this book is the perfect amount of lyrical and flowery, without being obnoxious and the descriptions are so lush that I found myself easily able to picture everything. The characters are whimsical and well-fleshed out. My only complaint is it was too short, though only because I didn't want it to end. Five stars!
I am currently reading How to Hang A Witch by Adriana Mather for Boo!kish BINGO in the Life & Lit group on Facebook. It will help me cross off two squares: a book with witches and a book with ghosts. It is starting to really pick up and I like it! Anyone recommend a witch book that actually takes place during the Salem Witch trials? I am loving reading about witches! #readathon #howtohangawitch #spookybooks #lifeandlit
