The recipe is ALWAYS wrong when it comes to garlic imho 😄

Bonus post - Elliot immediately claimed the box the books came in… she didn‘t even let me take out the tissue paper first 😹 #catsoflitsy
@Soubhiville thanks so much for the #authoramonth winners box! I‘ve been looking forward to the Nicole Chung and Stephen Graham Jones (and have an excuse to read them sooner now having physical copies) - and the rest will be read in their appropriate months later this year. Much appreciated, friend! 🥰📚📬💕
I‘d been leaving bookmarks just lying loose in my community LFL and then my dad sent me a couple of bookmark holders as a belated Xmas gift… so I put one in the LFL and now all is organized and cute in the world. 😄

I won‘t be finishing any more books today so here‘s my #monthlywrapup for December. I almost doubled what I read in November, which was completely unintentional. I was trying to finish up some reading prompts in a few challenges on #storygraph tho so I can kind of see why total went way up comparatively. Looking forward to seeing everyone‘s year in reviews tomorrow! #monthlystats #thestorygraph
Just under the wire, but I‘ve finally completed all three #readdinggoals I set in #storygraph
Still some reading to do in these final days of the year, tho, so I‘m sure at least page count and total books may go up, but I think my audiobook stats may not change between now and Tuesday evening. We‘ll see, I guess. 😄
Settling in for a an evening of cosy reading with the kittehs. #catsoflitsy 😸
My immediate response upon reading that last sentence was “thems fightin‘ words” and I‘m wondering what muppet trauma the author lived through to have any kind of bad opinion of them…
Then again I haven‘t watched Muppet Christmas Carol since I was very young so maybe it‘s not as good as I remember 😄🤷♀️
#smallbusinesssaturday #bookhaul 3 stores visited (1 totally new to me) and a multitude of books added to my tbr because I sadly can‘t buy all the books I‘m interested. Here are some that came home with me today. 🤩
Soft pick, tbh. While I liked the brief intro and history of graffiti/street art - it didn‘t feel like quite enough. Also the author has a very definite aesthetic and I don‘t feel like this book had a very diverse or wide range of styles that I‘m used to seeing in street art collections. Still, enjoyed for what it was. 😃
Despite spending most of the month obsessing over Agatha All Along, I still managed to read more books than September (yay for that!). It was a pretty good spooky month in the books, happily! #monthlywrapup #monthlystats #thestorygraph #storygraph
Spooky reading tonight and trying to make my through some overdue comics. 👻
So rare to read a comic book set in the city I‘m living in - even rarer to see a decent depiction of the downtown skyline 😃 #atx #spooktober
Aw! I love when Stardew is just casually mentioned just about anywhere, but it‘s especially nice in a book I‘m enjoying! 🤩 #stardewvalleyftw #stardewvalley
My HOA finally came around to the idea of a Little Free Library for our community! An excited board member expedited the process and got things set up. Spent a good few hours yesterday with her painting our LFL and hopefully we‘ll eventually have a mural on the back wall and plant a fairy garden around the stump it‘s set upon. I couldn‘t resist adding some books today even tho the official unveiling is later this week! 📚💕 #LFL #littlefreelibrary
Am I reading yet another cat graphic novel? Of course I am. And it‘s just as relatable as others I‘ve read in the past. 😻
Stats are a little down from last month, mainly cause I watched a little more tv in August (still RAGING about the final season of the umbrella academy tbph)… but still read quite a few good books last month. 😄#monthlywrapup #monthlystats #thestorygraph #storygraph
This was a hug in book form an absolute delight to read! And the fact that it‘s pretty much fan fiction for the Princess Bride makes it even better imho. Basic premise: what if Buttercup had not believed the rumors of Westley‘s death and had gone off to save him? Adventure, pirates, self discovery, true love, and dragons to boot!
Now that‘s the mostly achievable motivation/aspiration I can get behind 🤣
I‘m enjoying this graphic novel so far. Not quite up to par with check please - but I‘m only 1/3 through so I‘ll give it a minute 😃
I am loving the new monthly wrap up feature on #thestorygraph - love me some stats!
Looks like my reading went down in July (which makes sense since I spent a good part of the month catching up on shows) 😄
Who knows what August will bring 🤓

If you‘re looking for a cute and cozy manga you can‘t go wrong with this sweet (and short) series about a kitten rescued by a guy who used to be yakuza but now runs a rescue animal cafe. Heartwarming and funny at turns. Would recommend. 😻
(Chose this page to feature because I‘m very familiar with kittehs appropriating drink boxes - tho in my case it‘s usually la croix 😸)
This is a pretty nifty book of art for book lovers - spans centuries of reading/books portrayed in fine art. 📚😍
In a photography book kind of mood lately - and luckily my local library obliges with a decent selection. Today‘s book of photographs is of French cats (there really is a book for everything 😹)
Loving it!
What a powerful and wrenching memoir. It depicts the authors journey in therapy seeking approval for HRT. The first therapist she meets with (and ends up seeing for 6 months) is the worst one possible for her. A long read (over 900 pages) but it really does fly by. I found myself angry on Emma‘s behalf many times and I‘m glad she finally found the right therapist.
I‘ve never wanted to punch someone in the face more. This is a therapist browbeating and not believing their client. This memoir is good but so rough.
Of course I was going to buy this cookbook. I love the game and will do what I can to support Concerned Ape… and I was pleasantly surprised that a lot of the recipes are already vegan or easily adjusted to become vegan. So I‘ll be trying some out over the next few weeks for sure. 😃
Made some yummy tropical curry to treat myself this evening! The pineapple bowl is cool looking, but a pain to do so I‘ll be sticking to actual bowls in future.
Even tho I should absolutely be reading my own books (and I will get back to that shortly lol), I took a quick detour in this series manga series - an impulse grab from the library.
This series is sweet, cute, and informative (after each chapter there‘s a letter from a paleontologist with tidbits and factoids)
When the printer does the table of contents upside down we all get a little chuckle 😂
More sweet times with Fuyuki and Fukumaru. Never giving up on the delightful manga. Need more now please and thank you 😻
Loving the endpapers in this graphic novel bio of Miss Nina Simone 🤩
The bark of this white poplar tree is covered in kisses 💋 🌳😄
Visited 5 book stores yesterday for #independentbookstoreday (and AtX is truly blessed because that is just a fraction of local indie booksellers - plus we didn‘t even go to the biggest one tbh)… definitely over indulged (pictured is a sampling of my #bookhaul lol)
Great time was had and am looking forward to all of these books!
This is pretty nifty and something I wish existed when I was younger! If you live in/near Kansas City and have kids in your life - here‘s something cool to check out!

@julieclair apologies for the late post! Litsy wasn‘t working for me Saturday and I lost track of time yesterday. 😄
Thanks so much for this thoughtful #LitsyFoundFamilySwap box! I really look forward to using the potting mat and trying the treats. I‘ve never heard of Abbi Waxman so I appreciate the recommendation to try something new. 🥰
Much appreciated, new friend!
Lots of amazing street art featured in this book - but I thought I‘d share one of the bookish examples 😍
Am I going to end my workday early to play a video game? YUP
Am I going to spend a ridiculous amount of time this weekend #audiobooking while exploring the new content? ABSOLUTELY
Any other stardew players here geeking out right now?
#noregrets #stardewvalley #onlytangentiallybookrelatedlol
This was a fun romp of a sci-fi road trip venture with a tacked on love story towards the end. A low pick because it‘s way too long for what it is - but I‘m not super duper mad about it. This book would make a good tv miniseries methinks. 😄
The above quote is basically the underlying mission statement for the photographers featured in this book. It‘s so rare that I get to see a photography collection featuring women - and I loved that all of these photographers are all centered on focusing on nature, activism, and conservation. Most are new to me and I‘ll be seeking out more of their work, for sure.
Reading a manga about a cute little kitten while having some quality snuggle time with my own little kitteh. 😻 #caturdaygoals #caturday #catsoflitsy
Ok, so I‘m finding a lot of this book to be meandering and pretentious AF (and I‘m somewhat feeling like that‘s a little bit of the point, but idk tbh)… but little nuggets like this keep me reading. I feel this description is so very apt.
It could also be that it‘s late and I‘m looking for any kind of resonance in a book that frustrates me. 😂
“Whether the Vienna Boys Choir or monks chanting away on some chart climbing CD, the hallowed always seems to abide in the province of the hollow.”
This took me back - anyone else remember how in the mid 90s the Benedictine Monks had a massive selling album? Wild times 😄
This book seems kind of tedious so far imho and I‘m not sure if I should tough it out or not. If you‘ve read it - is it worth it?
Elliot may not be a cryptid - but she is great company while read about them 🥰 #catsoflitsy
I never really know what to say about art/photography books… especially when I like them. This artist is new to me and I really enjoyed the playful yet thoughtful nature of the still life photographs in this collection. Will definitely see if I can find more. 🙂
Hanging out at a local bookstore and may have over indulged… No Regrets 😆 #bookbuyingbanstartstomorrowforsure
This was a really well researched biography of Vivian Maier (well known as The Photographer Nanny). I loved the inclusion of photographs throughout and learning more about this elusive artist. (I chose this photo to highlight because the girl on the right looks exactly like my niece when she was younger) 😄
What better way to spend a Sunday evening than reading with a kitty curled up next to you? #catsoflitsy
Saw this yesterday and also found out it‘s based on a book… so now I have that on hold from the library. This movie was bonkers but so much fun - hoping the book is even more so. Anyone read it?
Read this book a year or so go and really liked it… now I‘m going to set up myself for heartbreak again by reading the graphic novel. #maybemyfavewillmakeitthistime🤞
Waiting out this cold snap with the kittehs on the couch and catching up on comics/graphic novels that I‘ve accumulated over the last year… this one is real cute. The guy is sad because the protagonist‘s dog is scared of him. 🐶🥺
