My January 2020 wrap up. Enjoyed all of them, my favorite was Dear Edward.
Warning: if you want to be traumatized then read this book. Omg what did I just read? It‘s a true story of crime, abuse, manipulation, human suffering and murder. I wanted to bail out many times but I needed to find out wether justice was served.
What a wonderful book! Took me right back to the prairies that I loved reading about as a child. Such beautiful writing. If you liked Where the Crawdads sing and the way nature was described you will surely love this. It‘s like reading poetry in every page. Also there is sin, healing, redemption, love, and courage. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Hunger is a fiction book based on the Donner Party which was a group of pioneers that migrated to CA in wagon trains and were forced to cannibalism after being stranded in winter on mountains of the Sierra Nevada. Supernatural events were added to make this story super creepy. / The Non fiction book based on true events was horrifying and heartbreaking and a terrible tragedy in the history of the pioneers.
Growing up in a Mexican household I was able to relate to this story. The traditions and culture shock a girl has to live with is told in a very sensitive and funny way. The main character is complicated and although at the beginning hard to swallow towards the end you feel for her. I really enjoyed this book..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the story of Mary Anning, a young woman in the 1800‘s, who at the age of 16 discovered a fossilized ichthyosaur skeleton and although she never received a proper college education, became the worlds first paleontologist and most respected female fossil hunter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A heart breaking true story of an abandoned baby who gets rescued and put in an orphanage only to be adopted by an abusive father...it was difficult to read at times...it was shocking and it made me cry...and then he grows up and searches for answers ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I started reading this yesterday and stopped midway...I could not handle this creepy story.
This long 600 page novel is about heroines, botany, the historical discovery of science, philosophy, love triangles, lust, exploration, adventurous journeys and interesting characters. I love historical fiction and I love botany so I enjoyed all the detailed descriptions. In some parts I felt I was reading a science textbook. Overall I enjoyed it and found the research the author did to put this book together simply incredible. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This novel inspired by the fasting girls of Europe and North America who claimed to go for long stretches of time without food. This story is all historical fiction and a bit gothic also very heartbreaking a definite page turner. A19th century psychological thriller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ same author as The Room
I really enjoyed this book. I found it touching and compassionate. A heart wrenching love story. There are a lot of moral dilemmas regarding life and death which would make this book perfect as a book club choice. Also from a medical point of view you can tell the author did great research. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I liked this book...I didn‘t love it but I liked the way it was written. Lots of drama. This book is about two families that go through difficulties and tragedies. Talk about dysfunction..destruction and loyalty. It bothers you all the chaos the characters go through but sometimes that‘s life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was inspiring and with the strong subject of domestic abuse and alcoholism. It was depressing to me but the author did a wonderful job putting a face on physical spousal abuse and perseverance. 🌟🌟🌟
Ok I gave this book 3 stars. After reading the 1st chapter I realized I was lost. It was too quirky for me and although some parts were ok with great writing there were too many different timelines..magical realism..fairytales and multiple characters. I can say it was a unique book but just too complex for my taste. This is my opinion and I hope someone reads it and explains it to me.
Good morning, finished The Last Mrs. Parrish! What a fun and fast read..evil and delicious and I liked the ending! This is my next book..Gingerbread. I have no idea what it is about...has anybody read this? Was it any good?

This book set in Burma is a fiction/romance novel/mystery. I hope it‘s good and I can finish it over the weekend. Happy Friday🤓🐛
Well to be honest I found this book to be sad...I did not agree with what the boy went through it was heartbreaking and harsh and for what? I don‘t want to spoil it for anyone. The book was well written but I did not agree with what went on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finished Once Upon A River by Diane Setterfield. It was such a magical story full of characters and romance and overall great storytelling. So magical it reminded me of Like Water for Chocolate or House of Spirits. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. My next book is Boy Erased..the movie is coming out soon with Nicole Kidman!
So I just finished my previous book The Dreamers. I really loved it..it only took 2 days because I could not put it down. Gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. My next book...is Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield. Has anyone read it? I‘m curious... Genres: Gothic fiction/Historical fiction
