Game
Game: The Sequel to "I Hunt Killers" | Barry Lyga
Billy grinned. "Oh, New York," he whispered. "We're gonna have so much fun." I Hunt Killers introduced the world to Jazz, the son of history's most infamous serial killer, Billy Dent.In an effort to prove murder didn't run in the family, Jazz teamed with the police in the small town of Lobo's Nod to solve a deadly case. And now, when a determined New York City detective comes knocking on Jazz's door asking for help, he can't say no. The Hat-Dog Killer has the Big Apple--and its police force--running scared. So Jazz and his girlfriend, Connie, hop on a plane to the big city and get swept up in a killer's murderous game. Both the stakes and the body count are higher in this suspenseful and unstoppable sequel from acclaimed author Barry Lyga.

This was really good, but I still have a hard time believing so many police officers/detectives want to rely on a teenager for help solving the crimes. Setting that aside, though, the premise of the murders was really clever, I thought: the “game”. Unfortunately, the book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger for each of our teenage characters. I believe there is one more book to the series, in addition to a few prequels that I haven‘t yet read.

She had screamed, but she had not cried.
That‘s what he would remember about this one, he thought. Not the color of her hair or her eyes. Not the tilt of her hips, the curve of her lips. None of those things. Not even her name.

Finished off these three. Using these towards #ISpyBingo

Hand, Waves, Sunset, Pizza. I'm getting close to a bingo.

Game is also a #Roll100 read.

You have to seriously suspend your disbelief for a lot of these situations. The FBI and NYPD bringing a minor over state lines to "consult" on a murder investigation? No, no way ? but this ends on a freaking cliffhanger! So I have to listen to the final book.

So this plus the tagged book (which is an audiobook) are probably the last of the books for this year for me. I'm determined to finish the top book as my husband got it for me and is wanting to discuss lol I just saw a blurb for Gamechanger yesterday and put it on my TBR and when I went to pick up my hold of The Boys, there it was on the new arrivals.. so providence, I guess.

Book 2 in the trilogy. I enjoyed the mystery in this one even more than the first one. There is a deadly game being played and it is compulsively readable. The characters stay true to themselves and the personalities I came to like in the first book carry throughout. Jasper Dent is again dealing with a serial killer but this one is hunting in NYC taking him far from home to help the police. Again with trigger warnings. Beware-cliffhanger

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I enjoyed these!!! Is that weird?! Lol 6y
JoScho @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks lol if so we are both weird because I am enjoying them as well! 6y

Dang! I really liked the first book and was iffy about the second book because sequels are never as good as the first one but it was just as good! Twists and turns that keep you guessing and of course murder. The only little thing I didn't like was that Jaz was still doubting that he isn't a serial killer even tho he has proved in so many ways hes not. It's just kind of getting annoying at this point. But over all amazing book!

Jazz is the son of the most notorious serial killer. His father is in prison, but Jazz hears his words in his head every day. Instead of giving in to who he was raised to be, Jazz hunts serial killers instead.

This series definitely has a Dexter vibe, but it‘s an entirely different story with wonderfully complex and dynamic characters. #currentread #YAlit

Jasper Dent #2! I didn't like this as much as the first, only because it felt a bit too long. Frustratingly, it also ends on a cliffhanger. I need a break from Jazz and Billy for a book or two, before I read the third. Because I will be reading the third, yes indeedy.

Like I Hunt Killers, Game read fast and easy. I found it simple to pick it up and read just one more chapter. I found it equally difficult to put down.

Of course, the book is not perfect and there are plenty of plot holes to complain about. But the thing is, I don't care. I had too much fun. The book kept me too engaged. It's imperfections didn't keep it from be a great read.

If your looking for a good read, look no further.

The fact that this book is YA is crazy. This would be one that would probably piss off most parents. The content is very graphic and while there is a lot of suspension of disbelief, this was just fun.
