I stayed up late last night finishing the audiobook, which is excellently narrated by Morag Sims. It was so enjoyable, with complex, engaging characters and top-notch dialogue. The theme of keeping up appearances versus choosing your own happiness resonated with me and is deftly handled through the setting of the theatre world in the West End of London.

Loved these similar stories of enemies-to-lovers, romance, and the London stage. Both have similar complex characters and interesting plots. Nice ebook reads while nursing! 👍🏻🤱🏻

Cute if a bit slow. Not as good as the first book (Act Like It) but I'm enjoying this contemporary romance series. 3.5*

I read this a few years ago, but I needed an easy, comforting listen, so I gave it a go on audio. And I‘m cracking up at Lily‘s voice! 😂

(A major plot line is that Lily is trying to break out of her tv bombshell typecasting to be on the London stage, but her sexy, breathy voice is working against her, and she has to go to speech therapy.) The narrator is nailing it. 😂 #howjessreadsin2019 #romantsy

Lucy Parker is so good, y‘all! PRETTY FACE offers up two characters with the sort of deep connection that bursts off the page, tons of theatrical goodness, and plenty of consideration of how the tabloid press exploits various genres of celebrity. I had a wonderful time and cried RATHER A LOT during the last couple chapters.

Last night I got this CRAVING for Lucy Parker. Now I‘m going in.

I loved this #romantsy. I don‘t know why it took me so long, I‘ve adored all her other ones. The narrator was really terrific!

I really loved this second book in the London Celebrities series. Lucy Parker really takes aim at the shit actresses have to deal in the acting profession. Luc and Lily are great characters. I‘ll admit to being a bit nervous about the age difference but it is handled so well. Also nice to see Lainie and Richard in a short scene (Richard gives great advice when he remembers to not be an actual git.)

Keeping this in mind for the next time I direct a show. 😜

Lucy Parker's book Artistic License under the name Elle Pierson may have a less believable storyline than the other books, but it shares the humor (I laughed out loud a lot) and the adult protagonists actually talking to one another to deal with issues in their relationship. I also enjoyed the description of Queenstown, having visited a few years ago. So all in all a really enjoyable read.

Unfortunately the title is not yet in the Litsy database.

After reading Act Like It, I immediately had to download Lucy Parker's second book, Pretty Face. Also a fantastic contemporary romance set in London's West End amongst theater people, this one has a love story that hooked me a little less than Act Like It but dialogue that sparkled and had me laughing out loud. In public. Highly recommended and another 5⭐ read.

There was such a strong connection between Lily and Luc, the tension was palpable right from the moment they met. And it was so much fun to watch their romance unfold as they got to know each other better, and gained mutual trust and respect. This was one of those romances where both hero and heroine feel seen and understood by the other person. I love reading about characters like that!

Lucy Parker has quickly become one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. Pretty Face was released earlier this year, and I loved this age gap romance set in West End featuring a TV-turned-theater actress and the director who casts her.

I really like this author! So much so, that after reading Act Like It (from the library) and discovering that the library didn't have this one, I immediately bought it on my Kindle, bc I couldn't wait to read it. Very fun London theatre settings, nuanced characters, and some laugh-out-loud funny lines. 👍🏻👍🏻

I just finished my race through Lucy Parker's Pretty Face, and I think it was even better than Act Like It. Lots of great quotes I couldn't stop laughing at, but emotional as well. I suspect I will be rereading often.

A different flavor than Act like it. Different but as interesting. Less unpredictable, more celebral. Still very satisfying as a romance. I was stuck with a Jude Law fantasy casting and it annoyed me to no end. Luc Savage finally made sense in a way when I went... oh...Mads fits this character. Lily and Luc are a good match for each other. Both have a wicked sense of humor and of self. Pretty face is an entertaining read. #romantsy

A good night to read in bed and listening to hockey. Pens are in Calgary and battle Johnny 'Hockey' Gaudreau. Pretty Face is so quite good but unlike Act Like It where Richard Armitage was perfect casting, this one I keep coming back to a younger Jude Law when he had hair. Problem is, I kinda have a hicky reaction to most of Law's work. Maybe An older, less wild Colin Farrell might be a better match? Fantasy casting... #listeningandwatchinghockey

This #romance has a fascinating premise--the heroine is a gorgeous blonde with a porn star voice, type-cast as a TV sex-pot, desperate to break into serious acting. She's smart but people instantly think she's stupid--not true of this cover model. But then I have an anorexic model on a book about a curvy heroine, so I know how that goes! (Pleasure for Pleasure, if you want to witness the disaster yourself.) #romantsy. #keepers.

This was SO GOOD. I love everything about Lily and Luc: their individual arcs, their relationship arc, their banter. And I can't stop thinking about this book.

I was so sad to finish this audiobook on the way to work this morning because I loved it so much. The banter was fantastic as most reviews have already noted. I also really appreciated the pacing and the development of the relationship. Luv was my kind of hero- smart, grumpy, and protective I have read three books by Lucy Parker (including one she wrote under the name Ellie Pierson) and I have liked them all. #romantsy

3 books in 4 days. Apparently I needed some escapism.

If I don't think too hard about some points, I enjoyed this one more than Act Like It. I really liked the introverted MC who is often mistaken as aloof (I can relate.) Introverts tend to be portrayed as lonely and that is far from the case. Elle (aka Lucy) adds some extra outside drama to everyday relationship development (👎) but her characters are so human (❤). #romantsy

Fun read. I preferred both the characters and plot in this story over the first in the series, the backstage "pass" into the theater world was a setting I really enjoyed! As well as the focus on overcoming looks-based stereotypes.
