Finished some cookie baking to the tagged book while munchkin napped, but we baked together first. I love that he enjoys doing this with me!
It‘s been one of those inexplicably shitty mental health days so wine, chocolate, and reading it is. Hubs and kid are in bed, and dogs are sleeping on me.
pickIn my opinion A Game of Thrones was a bit more exciting than A Clash of Kings, still both are really good.
The only disappointing thing was the Blackwater Bay Battle, it felt too short tbh.

One of my favorite lines from Tyrion Lannister, one of my favorite characters in Martin's series. A motto to aspire to, yet this week I couldn't wait to #snuggle up in my bed & pass out. Work has been really been draining lately, leaving little energy for reading. Definitely looking forward to this weekend AND the holiday weekend to get some quality reading in. 📚📚📚

pickClash of Kings maintains the high standards set in the series opener, A Game of Thrones. Characters that by now have become pleasantly familair. It's as hard hitting as ever, with Martin using tried and tested to powerful effect even if they do sometimes leave a slightly bitter taste. The book as a whole recieves my hearty recommendation. If you loved the first book, you will love this one too.
pickFinally finished! This one was good (of course 💁♀️) but not as good as the first book. I'm rewatching the series and I saw that Catelyn has a conversation with Jaime in season 1 that doesnt happen until almost the end of book 2! Loving finding these differences 😍

I ended up reading The Eyes of Darkness by Dean Koontz and forgot to post about it. I‘m keeping myself preoccupied with books. I‘ve been temporarily laid off due to loss of business at my hotel. Until then, I read. Time to finish this series.
I couldn't resist getting the illustrated edition of A Clash of Kings to go along with the illustrated A Game of Thrones! They're...simply gorgeous! Do I already own the hardcover, ebook, and leatherbound editions of this whole series? Yup. Do I really need these as well? YUP. The heart wants what it wants! 😁📚💕
I finished my book club book in about a week, so back to the grindstone with this giant beast. Slow but steady progress 💪🏻

Ugh Tyrion come on... No wonder the north prefers to have it's own king. They're the only people who understand what the north is really like and what they have to protect King's Landing from (if the Watch fails).
