In A Bakeshop Mystery #2, Jules accepts an invitation to join a TV baking contest to help save her family's bakery. But she soon finds herself wrapped up in another murder mystery where every one has secrets they are trying to hide. Who was willing to go as far as murder to keep it hidden. I enjoyed this one as much as the first in the series.

23 #4 Loving this cozy series as a fall back for when I can‘t find something else I‘m in the mood for.

Just finished book #2 in the Bakeshop Mystery and again it‘s a keeper. I definitely wouldn‘t mind reading this again. This whole series so far is a personal favorite and I can‘t wait to start on book #3 😍😍

I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for something new in your tbr

I‘ve been on a real cozy kick since we‘ve been social distancing, and read the first 3 books in this series. I found myself really enjoying the in-depth descriptions of food, cooking and baking that fill out the narrative. In contrast, the characters can lean a lot on stereotypes, which can leave the story feeling a little pale in contrast to the food. I think I‘ll try a new series next, but I would definitely visit the main character‘s cafe!

Awesome characters, a fantastic setting, and a wonderful mystery all make A Batter of Life and Death a delectable cozy mystery and A Perfect Escape.

The second book in the series and just as good as the first!! I love getting to know the characters even more and again I was guessing as to who did it till the very end!!! I can tell this series has potential to to become a favorite cozy!!!

Currently hanging out in Ashland, Oregon with the delightful cast of characters in Ellie Alexander's Bakeshop Mysteries. Fun folks, AND recipes to die for? I'm there.

Book 2 in The Bakeshop Mystery series finds a popular television baking competition 'Take the Cake' filming in Ashland & Jules cast as a replacement baker. When she finds a fellow contestant facedown in buttercream frosting, she's back in the thick of another crime. This is proving to be a fun cozy mystery series w/Jules, her mom & staff at Torte (the family bakery) & her friends all likable & the food descriptions & recipes make me hungry! 🍰📚👍
