A wonderful book about people's anxiety's, fears and worries, but with a good ending.

I love Richard Russo, it is amazing how engrossing his books are for me.
My daughter has a Girl Scout event at a local library a town over & they have a clearance rack of books that you don't technically need to pay for! Instead of taking advantage, I only got what I had money for. I feel like I bought this Russo already, though. There might be a giveaway soon.... 🤣🤣
Wish in one hand and shit in the other. Let me know which one fills up first.
In celebration of June Is #Audiobook Month, I‘ve been recommending a book a day on Twitter. I forgot to include listening Littens! Ooops. 🎧Today‘s rec is brilliantly read by Mark Bramhall
Well I‘m glad I️ read this follow up to Nobody‘s Fool. This isn‘t as focused on the same characters. Ten years have passed so some have died off. A minor, unsympathetic character from the first book becomes the center of the story, and is humanized in the process. Another aging white guy. But still good! Very fun, interesting, and satisfying, with lots of zany twists along the way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a great cast of characters! Many LOL moments as the people of Bath, NY live their day to day lives. I like Sully; the grumpy old man who deep down really cares about himself and others.
A day late but #riotgram #yellowcovers @bookriot
Read them all except for Good As Gone
FYI Richard Russo writes a fabulous book if you're a patient reader.
Birthday #bookhaul from my boss because today was my first day back at work. No one ever buys me books so this is especially awesome. One book I have never heard of and two from my wish list. Really looking forward to to being reunited with Sully in Everybody's Fool. He is a #fantasticcharacter. #aprilamazingreads.
Nobody's Fool is one of my all-time favorite books and when I heard a sequel was coming out I almost couldn't handle it. I'm only a couple chapters in but oh, I love these characters so much and am glad their stories continued.
Attention Mark Bramhall fans: his work on Everybody's Fool is highlighted in my second of three posts highlighting AudioFile Magazine's Best Audiobooks of 2016 in Fiction. Many thanks to the magazine for asking me to partner with them!

I loved returning to the characters and setting from Nobody's Fool. Sully is back and in this book more time is spent with one of the other characters that was on the side in the last one. Love the humor and small town antics. Definitely want to read more of Russo in the future!
Russo brings humor and insight into the banal and ordinary through the beautiful use of language and shifting perspectives. The story takes place over three days in a small town through the eyes of its blue collar inhabitants, yet it somehow bigger than those three days.
#photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading When I think small town I think Richard Russo! I haven't read this one yet, but sometime in 2017!
When asked what's wrong.... "Everything. Nothing. Both true; neither accurate."
The book maintains the tone of the original, but it isn't reductive and doesn't provide easy answers. Yet it manages to move the plot, characters's emotional development forward in a very satisfying way. I high recommend it!
Just started this and got sucked in. Love the occasional pithy pessimism and complicated struggle of these post- industrial up-state New Yorkers.
Sully's my homie. Russo, you sly devil, you made me laugh often and, at times, allowed and inappropriately. I thank you for that.
Finished! Nowhere near as good as Nobody's Fool (which I listened to last month), but still an enjoyable read. Switched from audio to kindle half way through.... love reading outside after sunset! I'll have more to say in an upcoming blog post.
Such a wonderful continuation from Nobody's Fool. Richard Russo really knows how to take such a rag bag of characters and turn this into a story where you care for most of them. Would love to see one more book.
23 years after Nobody's Fool introduced readers to the cantankerous, Donald (Sully) Sullivan and other memorable residents of small town, No Bath, NY, comes this much anticipated sequel. I wasn't thrilled with this installment. It picks up 10 years after Nobody's Fool. Unnecessarily long, frequent changes of POV and the slapstick-like antics of townspeople got to be a bit much. This story and dialogues felt better suited as a movie script. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I ❤️ Sully. This is how my next few days will be spent.
"We don't forgive people because they deserve it, she said. We forgive them because we deserve it."
I love when books end with a word on the font, and I really liked the one they chose too. When I was finishing up my own book that should be out in few months (he said sheepishly) picking the right font was so so hard. It was enough to make a guy throw up his hands and yell 'Fine...ARIAL!!!'
I'm finally done! This book was packed full of heart and humor, and I heartily recommend it. No one does small town life the way Russo does. Was it better than Nobody's Fool? Probably not, but that would be a high bar to clear. I give it 4 excited monkeys 🙉🙉🙉🙉
Richard Russo fans rejoice! Over twenty years since Nobody's Fool, fans get the chance to visit Sully and his world once more.
So one day after discovering the Atheneaum I stumble into maybe the coziest coffee shop slash working print-making studio on earth. Everything is coming up EA!
Richard Russo follows up with his hilarious, aging characters from NOBODY'S FOOL and honestly, I liked this new book even more. It's like visiting a small town and learning everyone's secrets: such delicious fun. I would read NOBODY'S FOOL first, simply to spend more time with the residents of Bath.
sooo...I stumbled onto this Athenaeum in St Johnsbury VT. All I can say is ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
Taking a break from reading words to write down a few of my own. Being stranded on this campus while my wife attends classes is amazing
This book is full of assured writing, hilarious (and true) observation, and characters that could not be more full of real life. Heartfelt comic genius at its best, a stand-alone sequel to Nobody‘s Fool and a damn fine book—you deserve to enjoy this masterpiece of modern storytelling. -Melinda
Day 1 of the kids being with my in-laws equals books, coffee, and silence.
But their honeymoon was only for a week. Why did she need so *many* books?
10 pages in and it seems like Russo hasn't lost a step. I'm in sponge mode, soaking up books about small towns for my next writing project. Anyone have any small-town book recommendations?
I'm gonna have to agree with the Houston Chronicle on this one folks. I'm having a nice little run of awesome books!
"This lady down in Florida drove to the market for milk. Gone, like ten minutes. Came home to a very fat snake in the baby's crib." Two cops talking about the cobra on the loose. ?
My first Richard Russo! I'm just over 100 pages in and loving it! I've never read the first book in the series obviously (this one is #2), but it hasn't been a problem.
"We don‘t forgive people because they deserve it,” she said. “We forgive them because we deserve it."
Sully is back! Getting a lot of chuckles so far from this one.
