Enjoying Day 1 of Fall Break!
Enjoying Day 1 of Fall Break!
My nonfiction for the month.
Finished one book club book. Now on to the next, just in time for Valentine‘s Day!
Not feeling well today so I stayed home. Can‘t look at a screen of any kind without making my headache worse, so I‘m sitting in a semi dark room reading instead. My sweet fur baby Pixel is keeping my company.
I read this book many many years ago and I don‘t really remember it at all. Rereading it for January.
I have really been enjoying this book so far. It reminds me of a retelling of The Nightmare Before Christmas. But instead of Jack stepping in for Santa, we have Death. In classic Pratchett style, we also have a whole cast of other crazy characters who get into all kinds of odd and fantastical antics. And it reads fast. Such a great choice for the end of the year!!
Doing a reread to end my year. Fourth Wing and Iron Flame have both finally arrived so they will follow this series.
Hoping to finally finish this one. I started it years ago and got busy with life. Time to settle in and conquer!
When you‘re 2 days from moving sand 3 days from vacation your book mark becomes whatever you can find still lying around. 😏
A pretty good year. And a good Headstart on my first 3 for 2019.
Littens welcome @serendiipitous to the fold. She needs some new friends here!
#welcomewagon
Litsy, please welcome my sister @Amberdfoy She loves reading as much as I do, even if we don‘t see eye to eye on genres.
Started reading this with my little guy. Trying to instill a love of reading into him at a young age. He reads a chapter then I read a chapter. He is really getting good and only needs help with a few words per page.
I caught up...then I fell behind again. Oh well. Only 8 chapters behind. #earthseachapteraday
1. Ducky Dives in 2. Dogma 3. I read everywhere 4. I‘m a Nature girl. #weekendchat. @CSeydel
My library hold came in today for this one. Already making head way.
This is a raw look at human emotions and how we do the best we can with what life hands us. Through WWI, the outbreak of the Spanish Flu in Philadelphia, the death of people they love, and living with the consequences of their decisions, one family makes their way in life. They face challenges and make choices based on their own limited experiences of life, as they try to keep going and deal with the ups and downs of everyday life, as we all do.
I finally received the first three! Now to catch up. Hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday. #EarthseaChapterADay
On the recent addition shelf of my local library. Some good ‘ol classic sci-fi with a modern twist? It‘s good so far...
A reread of #5 of The Children of Earth series. It has been a number of years since I read this. It‘s still just as good! Auel, write me some more prehistoric novels or some archeology!
My Book Outlet order arrives today! Yeah!
🎶This is the book that never ends. It just goes on and on my friend🎶. On a positive note, I got an email from book outlet a few days ago and may have used my entire Christmas check from my mother to order new books. May have. I‘ll never admit to it though and I know you all won‘t tell.
Just me and these three today. Kids have 2 more days of school before break and I am making the most of them. Hoping to finish both today. I have a pile of others to get through.
Started this today. It‘s good so far. I have read a lot of WWII this year but not anything from the viewpoint of occupied Japan after the war.
This is as good as the first one. Maybe better! My current kindle read.
I‘m really enjoying this book so far! Very good fantasy and I‘m liking the characters. My current audio book.
1. Yes 2. Does Overdrive count? 3. There was this one time...4. Not since I was three 5. Yes Please!!
I have really enjoyed this series so far. It has some romance aspects and is a little cheesy at times, but it has been a great pallet cleanser between some other more serious reads. I also love the predictable unpredictability if it. You can always tell when something is going to happen, just not quite sure what. A little romance, a little magic, with some Petra gal thrown in. Bring on book 3!
I went to half price books tonight to waste some time. I sold some books of course and used a coupon I got from an email. Still, they paid me $0.47 to take these! Score
When you start your book club book...the day before your book club meeting. Guess what I will be doing today and tomorrow...
OMG will this book ever end? I know it has taken me a long time to get through it, but I have enjoyed it and I will miss the characters when it is over. Good thing there are a few more books in the series. And apparently another series as well.
Making progress! If I leave the house this goes with me. I kinda wish it wasn't so big and heavy. At least I only have to carry it to and from the car during pick up and drop off! Now to boot, it's storming⛈.
Starting this Beast today. I missed it when it was the #lengthylit but I really want to see it in the theater.
My current read. Reminds me of Three Musketeers. Once this guy gets into trouble, trouble has a way of tracking him down. And trouble is relentless!
Not as much as I wanted in the first 24, but better than I did last time. Hopefully I can get a few more hours in before midnight.
Breakfast and a book. Hubby is at work and kids are asleep, so sadly I had to fix it myself. But, it's pretty easy. #24in48
