Girl in 6e
Girl in 6e | A R Torre
Enter a world equal parts "Dexter "and "50 Shades" in this first, award winning erotic thriller from A.R. Torre! My life is simple, as long as I follow the rules. 1. Don't leave the apartment. 2. Never let anyone in. 3. Don't kill anyone. I've obeyed these rules for three years. But rules were made to be broken.

This is not what I was expecting. It was almost sweet even 😂 if you remove all the sex and murder 😂

Book 26: This was... a weird one. I figured out the plot twist pretty early on, and while it was enjoyable, the focus on her body and camming over, you know, her murderous tendencies was a little off-putting.

So I‘m part way through this (page 211) and what a gripping thriller....you kind of know what going to happen but how it‘s gets there keeps you turning the page, I started this last night and will finish it by this afternoon...haven‘t been able to put it down (other than to write this review ☺️)

This was such a cool, interesting take on a thriller. Deanna has locked herself in her apartment for the last three years, because she has an uncontrollable urge to murder, and she works as a cam girl to make money. She becomes wrapped up in a kidnapping when she hears of the disappearance of a little girl, and connects it to the fantasies of one of her clients. While Deanna isn‘t the most realistic character, it‘s super entertaining.

Writer's create protagonists that are vulnerable members of society to ramp up the horror. Stephen King writes children so anything bad happening to them is amplified.

In "The Girl in 6 E" the title alerts us to this device. There's more danger to an unformed psyche, her innocence is at the mercy of the beast and the exploitation of that innocence is shocking. Her vulnerability is counter point to the voyeristic cannibal of western society.

This is erotic suspense. Don't read if you are uncomfortable with sexual themes or fetishism.

Deanna is a cam girl with a serious case of blood lust. One day a little girl goes missing & Deanna recognizes it as the work of one of her clients. She decides to put her blood lust to work and rescue the girl. The cam sessions get a bit monotonous & takes up a lot of the story, but overall it was a unique & easy read, however it's not for everyone!

I found this book somewhat refreshing. The main character was a pornstar but was a virgin, the book showed how everything is accessible with a click of a mouse or button & how love can end up right at our doorstep. It was repetitive at times & I think her so called fear of killing could have been solved with a proper therapist even though she was dealing with several via 📱 & 💻 #thegirlin6e #artorre #bookshelf

Hey, it's my favorite day, #recommendsday 😍. Today I'm going with the Deanna Madden series, starting with The Girl in 6E. These are graphic, but they're intense & enthralling. PS - I did these via Audible, & they were perfect for it. Give these a chance. They're a great #palatecleanser & a fast ride.

This book was really good. A little bit American Psycho, a little bit Dexter. It had everything - mystery, sex, romance, murder. I couldn't put it down. It definitely kept my interest and am going to buy the rest of the series. I recommend for anyone who isn't squeamish, especially with graphic sex and violence. It is a really fast and good read.

I was both disturbed and endeared to our MC Deanna. I'm not even sure how that's possible. And more Jeremy forever. A couple of twists were genuinely surprising and carried that "oh damn" element I love in suspense/ thriller reads. Graphically sexual and violent, but that's just part of what made this a visceral and unapologetic story that goes full out.

Started as a Pan, ends as a Pick, & I will read/listen to the next installment. I get that she's a webcam girl, but there was a LOT of yucky cybersex to begin with, & for too long (but NOT as bad as Maestra!). But redemption comes with not knowing exactly what to think of our main character: is she a hopeless psychopath, or a girl alone in the world, trying to heal from a terrible trauma? I like it enough to try to find out in the next one.

Working on these 3️⃣ today but The Girl in 6E is 😱😏, sexy and suspenseful and thrilling and EVERYTHING, and I am LOVING it. Happy May 1st!

Yossarian Charlie Freeman is inching toward the top of my TBR. How is it? 4y
squibblesreads @Yossarian Intersectionality galore! So many things to think about in a scientific and historical context. It's an easy read in terms of language and sentence structure, highly recommended 👍🏼 4y
Yossarian Thanks! I'll either start that or This Is Your Life, Harriet Chance! Definitely something with a second person, proper named title! 4y
Megabooks @Yossarian This Is Your Life, Harriet Chance! is good but when I reflected after reading, a little sad. It's written in a funny way, but the topics are serious. 4y
