The Beatrix Potter series is always a good place to start. Also, Dr. Seuss and A. A. Milne.

I appreciate the charming images and the insights into rural life of over a century in the past (Potter herself had a farm), but it comes with the occasional brutal honesty of the relationship between predator and prey, and between domesticated animals and humans raising them for food. Fellow vegans beware! This collection offers insights the individual books don't: failing eye sight vs earlier exquisite art, which tales Potter favoured. 1/2

I have been enjoying looking over these stories I told my kids when they were little. Including a few I has never heard of. We have been busy with spring preparation in the garden this week so not a lot of time to sit and immerse myself in a book. But it‘s been nice to get things started outside.

Next up on my book lost is this, he‘s a children‘s collection but I‘m going to take a walk back, not to my own child hood as I don‘t remember these stories from then, but to my children‘s childhoods when I would read them Beatrix potter books a lot.

While I loved the illustrations, I was quite disappointed with the stories.

Made Nutella for the first time today while listening to the tales of Beatrix Potter. I found a video on youtube with a recipe. And I have to say it tastes amazing! Yum!

The kids and I took a road trip to the family farm in Northern California. We listened to The Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter on the way. I had forgotten how fantastic these stories were!!

One of my most cherished childhood books. A beautiful edition of Beatrix Potter's Complete Tales! I remember Benjamin Bunny and Peter Rabbit were my favorites 😍

Well-read in this audiobook version. Cute voice variations for the animals. I‘m not a big animal person but I really enjoy that these are moral stories in which the good animals/people are rewarded for their goodness and naughty animals receive just consequences for their actions. Makes me feel like all is right in the world when I hear the stories.

Found this set in good condition for EIGHT DOLLARS at goodwill 🎉 my seven year old is loving it!

Read out loud to my daughter, who LOVES Jeremy Fisher. Not quite as charming as Winnie the Pooh, but still enchanting. It's enough just to look at the illustrations. Some of the stories seemed rather silly to me, but Potter's voice was still clever and enjoyable. A childhood classic for good reason.

Beatrix Potter wins as my #WWW for the week. She was very well rounded and lover animals. But one of the best things about her was her contributions to the National Trust.
