The Magic School Bus: Inside A Hurricane (SF) is a great PR and IR book for elementary students to learn about the different types of weather and their causes. Students especially get to learn about the parts of a hurricane and it‘s formation. This book takes Ms. Frizzle and the class on a crazy adventure that even leads them into a dangerous hurricane! Students will be entertained by the wackiness of the book while also learning some important

MNelson98 information about weather. ESOL strategies 30, 36, 40 and UDL 2.5 could be used to help students comprehend weather vocabulary. UDL 2.5 could be used if a teacher wanted to have students watch a Magic School Bus episode about weather after reading the book. 5y
MNelson98 This website leads to a great lesson plan that could be used with the book: https://www.sps186.org/downloads/attachments/45274/magic%20school%20bus-%20insid... #lae3414sp19 (edited) 5y

Pickpick

The Magic School Bus: Inside a Hurricane by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen is about a class that takes trips based off what they are learning about in school. In this book, the are learning about weather so they took the magic school bus into the eye of a hurricane to learn more about it. After that, they went to the weather station and they leaned more about hurricane and taught what they leaned about hurricanes as well. #ucflae3414f17

Madiwright97 http://samanthabgreen.weebly.com/uploads/3/8/7/3/38735615/magic_school_bus_dlta_... this is a great lesson plan for sequencing the story. Mostly for grade 2, great read! 6y
AJones Another classic from my childhood. And I love the lesson plan. Thanks 🙂 6y

saresmoore @batsy Thank you. ♥️ We have so many hurricane threats to our area that we've grown pretty accustomed to it. Still, with the recent damage to Texas, I think people are being extra cautious. 7y
