I remember reading these when I was younger and never finishing the series. I'm finally starting it again and what makes it so much more special is I'm reading them with my sons before bedtime. We loved Book No. 1 and can't wait to start Book 2.

As a child I remember enjoying reading but not caring to, if that makes sense haha! I loved the Frablnklin books in Elementary and then when Middle school came around the Spiderwick chronicles caught my eye. As I got older I remember being drawn to the fun pretty covers and that's when I picked up the Princess Diaries from the school library. I remember thinking I was so cool carrying around that pink cover haha. 👑
I wish these had been around when I was a kid! I enjoyed my adult read of them, but I can tell these would have sparked that special kid magic if I‘d read them when I was young.
@Nazgul93 Thanks for choosing these for me for #TrappedOnAnIsland this month! There have been used copies of them unread on my shelves for years and this was the perfect moment to pick them up.
Can‘t remember the last time I read with an actual flashlight. Probably as a kid. But in honor of #spookyseason I‘m reviving the tradition. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious
My son enjoyed the first and we ended up right into the second! Not much happens within each book, but he enjoys them. The pictures are beautiful!
So far we‘re loving these. Book one is halfway done, and I‘m wondering how they‘re going to stuff more adventures into it. ‘Lil loved the movie and was so excited to hear they were books first.
Excellent Series, would recommend them to most middle school kids.
Here's one of my most treasured possessions. When I look at them I'll always remember a most wonderful week in Mister Winter's homeland and a heavy as hell suitcase 🤣

@Jackal121 these are the books cym was on about and has given us. But there are 2 we are missing from the set "beyond the spiderwick" might be interesting?
Obviously this was already a pick for me, but hearing Mark Hamill read these books has made me love them that much more. If you haven‘t listened to these, I highly suggest it.👌🏼
I haven‘t been posting on here as much lately, so I‘m going to do a few posts of updates. The first is The Spiderwick Chronicles. I was trying to find an audiobook to listen to while I cleaned last week, and stumbled upon this series. It was one of my favorites as a kid, and Mark Hamill does a tremendous job of bringing them to life. I‘m on book 4 currently, and totally loving it.😍 #audiobooks #audiocleaning #childhoodfavorites
Another great find at Salvation Army ~ I hope someone gets super excited when they find them in my Little Free Library.
“Underneath, there was a pocket watch on a long chain, a tattered cap, and a leather satchel full of old, odd-looking pencils and cracked bits of charcoal.”
This is the first of five in the series, and it explores the lives of Simon, Jared, and Mallory when they discover a brand new world all around them. This is great for older kids and a really good series to start off with if Harry Potter is too advanced for them. I also like that there are illustrations throughout the book.
“And the worst of all, they were only at the beginning”
Great attention getter for children. Personally never got too into it.
Publication Date: 2003
Intended for: older children
Character Development: yes
Storyline: mysterious story of three children
“If you looked at it that way, it was a big book, an absolute moly huge book, too larger to even comprehend. And worst of all, they were only at the beginning.”
The black and white sketches hidden throughout the book enhances the fantasy and magic that this story is about.
This modern fantasy was written in 2003 and published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. It is book 1 out of a series. It is a story about faeries. It depicts adventure, fantasy, and magic. A great story for Young Readers.
Book 14 of the year finished Feb 10, Audio.
This started off so promising and then the final book was just off. It's like they had to rush to finish the series and the 5th book was just really disappointing. Books 1-4 are a solid Pick, but the conclusion really just killed the whole thing for me.
[#BookReview] The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black & Tony DiTerlizzi. These books are so much fun and I am really happy I finally re-read them! This blend of supernatural and mortal worlds is really fun and I live the idea of these cool creatures being hidden in plain sight. This is an amazing series for young readers!

I read these aloud to my son this week. I was hoping for a little something more, but I think they'd be perfect for young readers. We enjoyed them.
This movie was perfect for my sleepover with my niece! That's one powerful book!
Watching this movie with my niece!
My mum has been cleaning out her house, and packed a tonne of my books to give me. From The Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants, to The Spiderwick Chronicles, and the Inkworld series - this first batch was like a time capsule.

I love the spiderwick chronicles so much. They were so wonderful and whimsical, and Mallory was so badass and I really wanted to be able to fence like her 😂 Also the art was amazing I still adore it to this day 😍
I fondly remember reading these books aloud to my little brother when I was old enough to read chapter books. It was a wonderful bedtime activity, and we enjoyed sharing in the magical world of this series! #readathonfaeries @Liberty
Did I just buy all of the Spiderwick books? Yes I did. Are they technically for middle schoolers? Yes they are. Do I care? Nope. Super excited!!!!!!!!
I loved these books. They're incredibly short, but they have amazing artwork and very interesting idears. If you like any of the old magical authors, definitely read these books. (I was just reminded of these books because I bought them from my library for a dollar. I was so happy.)
This is a fabulous series of books. I like the individual books but I just purchased the compilation of all five. Hopefully the size does not scare Jaxon away. And yes it is VERY different from the movie.
