I. Love. This. Series. This book is a great addition, and I honestly want to read approximately five hundred more books set in this universe. It‘s so good I can‘t even stand it. 11/10 definitely recommend 👌🏼
It‘s been a while since I participated in a #24b4Monday readathon, so I figured I‘d see what I can do with the long weekend. This book is amazing, and gives me a lot of insight on how the brains of people with autism work. I‘m also submitting this as the book that reminds me of my happy place for #booked2019 because I really and truly love working with the kiddos I work with.❤️
My boyfriend thinks I‘m extra because I bought a PopSocket for my Kindle. But like, I read one-handed all the time (usually because I have at least one cat laying on my face), & I accidentally drop it all the time (usually on said cat‘s face), so it just makes sense to have a grip. What do you think? #kindlereader #kindlereads #kindle #kindleprobs #layoffmypopsocket #yesmyhairisgreennow #littenquestions
1. I love having a designated space to talk books!
2. I don‘t think there is a single thing I‘m uninterested in.
3. A form of direct messaging would be cool - I‘d like to be able to discuss things further with people but not necessarily through comments.
4. Not as often as I‘d like, but I‘m trying to be more active!
5. Yes, but I never do read-alongs. I always fall behind.
6. Other than messaging, I can‘t think of anything. It‘s already great!!!
I decided to read this because I enjoy the story of Marie Lalurie and wanted to learn more about the facts vs the myth, but I‘m about ⅓ of the way through and not really digging it that much. It‘s readable, but the writing is really clumsy, like a high school research paper. We‘ll see if I can finish it or if I bail...
Totally loved it! Great story, great twist, great take on the traditional witch storyline. I definitely recommend it, and I cannot WAIT until the next in the series comes out in June! #booked2019 new in 2019 prompt👍🏼
Yoooo this book is my jammmmmm. About ¾ of the way through and it‘s so difficult to put down!! Also can we talk about how weird my cat is? Like, Jack, babe, you‘re one misstep from joining me in the bath, which would make both of us unhappy.??♀️ #fallreads #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #kittenlitten #bathtimereading
Corn chowder in the crockpot, house clean, warm fleece-lined leggings on, snuggles from my Leo-bug, & a good book. What else could you want on a fall day like today?! #littenkitten #catsoflitsy #leonidas #kittenlitten #fallreads #cozyreads #kindle #kindlereads
Guys I have the best reading buddies, & I‘m breaking two new ones in (pictures soon!). But anyhow, I am loving this book. It‘s a fresh take on the classic witch story, and it‘s about wine. What‘s not to like? PS I‘m throwing a Halloween party this week so I don‘t know how busy I‘ll be, but I‘ll be sure to share pictures!😊 #catsoflitsy #littenkittens #kittenlitten #readingbuddy
Guyssssss. My litsyversary was two days ago and it got me thinking of how much more I need to be on here because it‘s been SO LONG.😭 I even missed the Halloween photo challenge which like, hello, Halloween is my favorite, I would‘ve LOVED that. Anyways I gave up on the Crawdads for a while & I‘m moving on to this book for my new in 2019 prompt & I‘m loving it so far! I‘m going to make a conscious effort to be more active on here, too!
I haven‘t been posting as much lately because I haven‘t been reading as much (in true book club fashion, I‘m not as into the pick as I‘d hoped when I joined so I‘m dragging with it - I think I just don‘t like being told what I need to read) but I started again this weekend because I am determined to finish this book & move on to more Halloweeny titles because ITS SPOOKY SEASON💀🎃👻😍
The Geneseo book club has officially started so it‘s time for me to start reading this book. Trying to get some reading in while I start dinner since I‘m home alone for a little bit. I‘m not even sure what it is that I made, all I know is it tastes good.😍🤣 #booksanddinner #readingandeating #bookclub #firstbookclubbook
TL;DR - Strong National Museum of Play is amazing, and I highly recommend you come to the ROC and visit it no matter how old you are, because you‘re never too old to play. Here‘s a picture from their exhibit One History Place during their Happiest Hour. This chick clearly had too much fun, & so will you.🤣 (4/4) #strongnationalmuseumofplay #visitroc #letmeknowwhenyoudo #litsyplaydateanyone
They also have a butterfly garden that is open year round! It costs extra to go in, but it‘s so cool inside. There are so many species of butterflies flying around. They land on people, and there‘s a section where they have a ton of chrysalises with butterflies hatching (behind glass, of course) and we even got to see one come out of its chrysalis!😍 (3/?)
The genres/settings include the Upside-Down Nonsense House (think Dr. Seuss), Mystery Mansion, Adventure Island, Wizard‘s Workshop, & Fairy Tale Forest (where this selfie was taken after we made crowns, which is an activity that is always out for kiddos). Talk about literal immersion into your favorite books! Literacy is promoted throughout the entire museum, among a bajillion other awesome things kids need to be able to see! (2/?)
I haven‘t been posting as much on here lately, but I wanted to share with you guys this picture my boyfriend and I took at the Strong‘s Happiest Hour. I don‘t know who of you are familiar with this museum, but it‘s amazing for everyone of all ages. This particular photo was taken in their exhibit Reading Adventureland, specifically in the Upside-Down Nonsense House. The exhibit brings to life 5 popular children‘s genres... (1/?)
This was weird. Like, I have no idea what to think of this after reading it. I‘m definitely going to try and watch the show on Netflix and see if I like the story when it‘s told in a different media form.
Obviously this was already a pick for me, but hearing Mark Hamill read these books has made me love them that much more. If you haven‘t listened to these, I highly suggest it.👌🏼
Like I said last night, so so so cute! It‘s a kid‘s story, so there are some things that are glossed over and not really resolved/dealt with in a realistic way (basically the entire climax), but that doesn‘t take away from how absolutely adorable it is. I‘m using it as my #booked2019 genrebusting prompt because of the combination of text and comic panels throughout the book.😊😊😊
I‘m almost done with this adorable book. I‘m totally loving it. It‘s so cute, and Kate DiCamillo makes Flora such a relatable character. Even William Spiver, who honestly is super weird, is more relatable than people like her parents, who are relatively normal and probably more like us than any of us would like to admit. I‘m thinking I‘ll try & finish it tonight, as it‘s such a quick read, because I have another loan to get to!
I haven‘t been posting on here as much lately, so I‘m going to do a few posts of updates. The first is The Spiderwick Chronicles. I was trying to find an audiobook to listen to while I cleaned last week, and stumbled upon this series. It was one of my favorites as a kid, and Mark Hamill does a tremendous job of bringing them to life. I‘m on book 4 currently, and totally loving it.😍 #audiobooks #audiocleaning #childhoodfavorites
This email got me way too excited!!! Anyone who knows me knows that two of my favorite things are my alma matter and reading. (I even have a tattoo of the iconic bear statue in the middle of town that people apparently can‘t help but run into; Google “Geneseo fountain hit,” it‘s seriously been like 15 times). Looking forward to this!!!!😍 #BookClub #GeneseoAlumniBookClub #YAY
Here‘s an update for #booked2019 - I‘m also currently working on the Ireland & genrebusting prompts with Great Irish Tales of Horror (Ireland, obviously) and Flora & Ulysses (genrebusting). Also, between work and spending time with my mom, I‘m only at about an hour for #24b4Monday & I have no idea how much more I‘ll be able to get in this weekend but let‘s give it a shot🤷🏻♀️😊 (I‘m also awful about tagging challenge hosts consistently🤦🏻♀️)
Just finished listening to this one. I typically listen to podcasts on the way to work, but thought I‘d give an audiobook that I haven‘t previously read a try. I spaced out at a lot of different points so I missed a good chunk of dialogue and description and whatnot, but I got the basic gist of the story and the main plot points. I like the movie adaptation from a few years ago better.🤷🏻♀️ #booked2019 public domain entry, too
The girls are in bed and I can‘t tell if I‘m cramping or dealing with cysts bursting but either way it calls for being curled up in bed with my snuggle bug Leo & a good book.❤️ #littenkitten #kittenlitten #catsoflitsy #kittensoflitsy #kittiesoflitsy #snugglebug #leonidas #bedtimereading #catsandbooks #readinginbed #helookslikehesgonnakillme
This was very interesting. It was done tastefully, and really captures some of the feeling that follows the suicide of someone (or in the case of this book, 5 someones) that you know. Never does the author try to explain how the parents felt, which honestly was a relief to me. It definitely is something I need to continue to digest, but I was pleasantly surprised in reading this, whether of my reaction or how it was written I don‘t know.
My mom & brother came to visit today, which was SO nice. I miss them a lot. This book isn‘t hitting me as hard as I thought it might, but that may just be because I can relate to the narrators more. Either way, it‘s living up to my opinion of the movie.👌🏼 #weekendreads #kittenlittens #littenkittens #snugglecats #familyvisits #bookupdates
So I don‘t know who here likes the Choose Your Own Adventure books, or who likes board games, or honestly who likes both, but let me just tell you, this game is AMAZING! I bought it for the boyfriend for Father‘s Day and we are having so much fun with it! Definitely a great, bookish gift (even if it‘s for yourself) #bookishthings #games #chooseyourownadventure
I think I‘ll try this one next. I love the movie, but haven‘t watched it since my grandfather‘s suicide, so I‘m not sure how well I‘m going to do. If I make it, I‘m submitting it for book to movie for #booked2019 - here goes nothing!
This one was definitely interesting, but I‘m not totally sure I enjoyed it. I feel like it was all a bunch of teen angst and the only part I related to at my current age is the issue of high school friends growing apart & all of the little things that go along with that. I‘m curious to see the movie, though. #booked2019 #graphicnovel #ontothenextone
Decided I would go for the graphic novel prompt for #booked2019 next. I‘ve had my eye on this one for a while, & was so excited when I found it at Goodwill! Plus, it seems like a nice quick read, which is great since I‘m trying to catch up on cleaning today!😅 #graphicnovels #cleaningday #quickreads #backinthereadingroutine
