Book 119, audio
OK. This may be my favorite ending to a series ever. It was suspenseful, funny, and addressed all the issues quite nicely answering all my important questions. I'd read the series again just to have a second go at this ending. Well done.
When you are ré reading a favourite and you have just the tea box bookmark and mug to match its cover ;)
A thing I made for last year's #great2019parasolversereadalong ...........
Did I mention that #yellowmakesmehappy?
Manners & Mutiny was my favorite of Finishing School Series. That ending!
💛💛💛💛💛 I'm adding M&M to my favorite yellow things. I have yellow shoes for all occasions. Be it flowers or tomatoes I love yellow in the garden. And you can never go wrong with Veuve Clicquot Classic Yellow Label. 💛🌻🍾

I was so excited to find A Little Free Library on my walk today! And the most Halloweeniest of decorated front yards. It was an entertaining walk.

Excellent! Now it‘s time to reread the Parasol Protectorate.
2/5⭐ A relatively decent, action-packed finish to the series. It was satisfying to see Sophronia finally work out a relationship with Soap (seriously, the whole love triangle attempt in the previous books was awful). I would not mind a spinoff series focusing on Pillover.
Starting this today! I ❤️ steampunk!

I loved this entire series (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the series as a whole)! Each character was interesting and added their own twist to the story, I loved the humor...I snorted throughout each book. Sort of a Steampunk Harry Potter/Twilight/Mary Poppin/007 mashup? I don‘t recall who the recommendation derived from but I ended up listening to all 4 books back-to-back. #BlameLitsy for the win yet again.
Calling it a night. A good start to #24B4Monday - much better than I expected! Finished one, started and finished another, read four or five chapters of our current Nancy Drew to the kiddo (hope to finish it tomorrow), plus history and grammar lessons - all in all a great reading day!

Did I mention I love the color yellow? Manners & Mutiny was my favorite of Finishing School Series. That ending!

Today I broke in my new foot brace, it's helping with my foot drop.
Anyway, I walked past these lovely two guys. They are replicas of the Linenweaver Statue in the town centre. Town has a very long history of linen weaving, cloth making,... A shop can buy one of these replicas and custom decorate it. This tobacco shop got two.
It's overcast today.

This is up next in the #ParasolProtectorate readalong - as of yesterday! March 3rd is the end date for this book so that‘s plenty of time to dig in. After this is a novella I‘ve not read so I‘ll join in then.
Sadly the end of the series, but a good end! Answers for all the questions left unanswered in previous books, and connections to the next series! I really enjoyed it and the return of the wicker chicken!
Finally got my hands on the final Finishing School audiobook. I‘m so excited, as I loved these books when I read them earlier in the year during the #FreakyFriday readathon. ♥️
Finishing School, book four.
Sophronia and her friends discover what the Picklemen are really after and do their best to foil the dastardly plot. The friendship between Sophronia, Dimity, and Agatha is fantastic and I love that all the loose ends were tied up.
A fun, action-packed conclusion to the series.
“I declare you are properly finished.”
Listening to the last installment in this series while prepping for dinner... Homemade low carb Alfredo sauce with zucchini noodles (not homemade this time 😕) & broccoli florets. Or, regular pasta and sauce for those in the family not on the low carb diet or hate Alfredo sauce. #audiocooking #lowcarb #keto #finishingschoolseries #gailcarriger
Listening to the last of this great series and baking today. My friend and I want to open a bakery/cafe so on Sundays we work on recipes. Today I‘m baking a Honey Oat bread. Yumm!
Anyone have a favorite bread you've tried at a bakery or cafe?
The bread is a recipe from bakingdom.com
Book haul! I already have the Carriger on Kindle, but could not say no to a huge discount on the paperback so I could add it to the Carriger collection!

Sophronia is back for her final year at Mademoiselle Geraldine‘s. Taking on the last of her lessons in espionage. Cute and quick read.
Working from home today...well sort of. 😂 My current print and audio reads and one cat to keep me company.
About two hours left of Manners & Mutiny. This series is so playful and silly. I‘ve really enjoyed all the books.

I love that everything wrapped up neatly and the intrigues brought to light at last. Quite a bit happened in this book and there were some new characters as well as revelations of old ones. The girls make their choices and grow into the women they have been training towards for the past two years. I‘m a little unsure of the ending (I won‘t say what or why as it would spoil). The story was super fun and made me laugh out loud quite a few times.
Going to have to nap to sleep off the flu. After that, I'll be reading the final book in the series.
The final book in the Finishing School series was much more action packed than the others. It wrapped the story up nicely.
What I don't understand is that this edition gas a preview of the first book at the end... why not put a preview of the Parasol Protectorate in there. 🤔
I did not read much for the #readathon, but I managed to find some #duckquotes 🦆
Unfortunately, I have the worst headache since ages (I have chronical headaches pretty much all the time). So I have to postpone #deweys24hrreadathon till evening/night. Hopefully it will be better then and I can finish Manners & Mutiny. 😣 I really hoped I could participate
A fun book it's always a delight to get back to Gail Carriger's books.
Finished this series off in my car. Once again Carriger doesn‘t disappoint. The girls were brilliant and as always the world is seamless. I loved this series so much and can‘t wait to read more of her books.
That moment when you are in a book shop and find a book from a favourite series and you can't remember if you have read it or not... Day saved by Partner's smartphone used to access my Goodreads. Maybe I should have left it open on his phone (no smartphone for me, too much distraction from reading!)
I am so using this for my #girlsinscience. Steampunk is loaded with the science of engineering. Plus are girls are training to be spies and assassins so they learn the chemistry of poisons. #backtoreading
