It‘s been a snowy day here in my part of Boston. So it‘s been a good day to sit & read. My reading buddy is hoping for an early spring.

This book is simple but heartfelt. School is canceled because it‘s snowing. But you can not play outside, and Daddy‘s plane can‘t take off. This book fosters a peace and a calmness that comes along with a quite snowy night. The illustrations are not typical of modern picture books, but their very uniqueness helps the reader feel at peace, and cozy, and in the presence of others who care.

#WinterWonderland Day 10: Perfect for #FirstSnowInBrooklyn. It has been snowing all evening and everyone‘s stuck at home. This bit of information was met with great excitement by our little bunny who was so excited to make snow dumplings and snow angels. The narrative and the haunting artwork communicate that sense of isolation and peculiar aloneness that winter can oftentimes bring. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-5TH
Despite all the Dickensian imagery of snowy streets, we don‘t often get snow in the south of England. Particularly where I live- something about being too close to the sea. But today things have slowed right down and I‘m loving it!
In light of today's unexpected snow (half) day I've corrected my February stats. Here we go again...sorry!
My favourite was without a doubt The Tsar of Love and Techno but honourable mentions go to Dracula and Folk by Zoe Gilbert.
Okay, this is only tangentially related to books (there are some miniature books in it). This is a little mouse 🐭 box theatre kit that I finished today. I think it makes a cozy reading nook. 📚
For those keeping track of our snowmageddon travels, we have arrive at our destination and checked into the hotel. We gave a few hours before the show so it‘s naptime/reading time as we recover from the snowy drive. PS, it‘s not snowing here at all.
Snow day!!
I feel so bad for my kid, who loves snow days, but still has a fever (Day 4) from the flu and is pretty much just hanging out in bed.
I am happy that school was cancelled so she isn‘t missing another day and more makeup work, but boy, her lackluster response to a snow day is so depressing. 😞
She doesn‘t even feel like reading. 🤭😮
Woke up to this today... seems like a good day to snuggle up under a blanket and get some reading done.
Big thanks to my Dad, for the grumbling drive out here. 😛 Indeed, I'll be taking the bus, over walking to work. #LitsyPartyofOne
