I absolutely love this book! It is one of my favorite books! It is more than just a home design book, it taught me how to appreciate seasons and my surroundings again. I am obsessed with this book.

I have a habit of accidentally moving and taking forgotten library books with me. It's something my parents, particularly my dad, have teased me about for years. Today the book that my dad bought for me used arrived. It is one of my favorite books, I have re-read it many times! Imagine my amusement when I ripped open the box in excitement and found that it was a used book from a public library in Nevada!
My dad bought me Home Sweet Maison!! Now I just have to wait until Thursday!
“The absence of books in your life signals a deep and inexplicable void.“
Very similar to other French lifestyle books. The American-born author takes the reader on a room-by-room journey of how the French design and live in their homes with practical tips and advice at the culmination of each chapter on creating one's own space. It's not a bad book, especially if this is your introduction to the topic. However, if you have read similar books, don't expect much new. Her biggest piece of advice is to invest in a bidet.
Six steps to folding a fitted sheet. No excuses for a rumpled mess anymore.
This guy isn't usually big on cuddling, but I've been lucky to have him curl up with me two nights in a row. It greatly improves the reading (and this one's pretty good to begin with). #currentlyreading #catsoflitsy
An interesting companion read to Marie Kondo‘s books. Use Kondo‘s method for clearing out possessions that don‘t spark joy and then create spaces in your home to display those things that DO.
Inspired me to let my home be a reflection of me and my family, and clear out the mess that's not working for us.
Coffee is refilled and ready for helping me finish the chapter I started last night. (I'm behind on the book discussion in one of my Facebook groups. 😔)
BTW: I'm a newbie here and I'm looking for interesting people to follow here. Any suggestions?
Bonjour! I give this short and sweet book 5/5. 🌟I simply loved it! It describes the importance of purpose (in French culture) of ALL rooms in a house/apartment. This book also gives the reader ideas and inspiration on how to achieve the same french style.
I am seriously loving this book! Completely inspired and enchanted.
Started this book last night and loving it! Pleasantly surprised to learn that my homemaking style is actually pretty similar. Three chapters in and two thumbs up so far.
A lovely guide to how to live life in the lovely style of the French,.
