The Wild Inside
Where I come from; the hunting party,
Alone in the wild, never look back!
Red at the bone; feast of sorrow.
Hmm... seems I‘m in a darker spine poetry mood. 🤔😉
#MOvember Still playing #catchup from the week
Tracy, the MC of this book is a natural-born trapper and hunter" & certainly a #GirlGoneWild in the forrest around her home in the Alaskan wilderness. I reviewed it in April of 2018 & still remember Tracy‘s late mother's 3 rules:
“Never lose sight of the house."
"Never come home with dirty hands."
& above all else “Never make a person bleed."
The gorgeous cover remains one of my favorites. ❄️?
#book haul !
Now to be fair - I‘ve was away for a week, and I did have time to kill whilst Mr K was a Brisket School! 🤣

This dark debut-part horror, part psychological suspense, part coming-of-age novel won't be for everyone but I found myself caught up in the story & the Alaskan wilderness setting. I find sled dog racing & the Iditarod fascinating & loved those aspects & all the twists. There are some disturbing scenes😱but very unique & absorbing. Paired with vegan chili for my book tour review. Link👇🏻
#Booked2018 #setoutdoors
Finishing this one up for my book tour review tomorrow. Strange, a bit creepy, but good so far.
Max 🐱does not approve of this book because of the dog on the cover. (And I didn't even tell him what happens to a cat in it!) 🙀He also thinks that if he takes my comfy spot, I'll give up and stop reading it. #catsoflitsy 😽❤️
#ReadingResolutions #wilderness ?Respectively set in the wilds of Alaska and a hidden town in the Yukon Territory, these two books from my #TBR stack are all about the wilderness. I'll be starting the tagged #ARC soon for an upcoming book tour review & I need to finish "This Fallen Prey" & get it back to the library.
(I took the picture in the 'wilderness' of my backyard!)???
My favorite book of 2018 so far. 5⭐️ Just brutally beautiful and unconventional and I have the worst of book hangovers still two days after finishing. The Alaskan wilderness setting is exquisite. The MC Tracy Petrikoff may be tough to love for some, if I am honest. She has some odd behaviors which can be off-putting. I saw her as a deeply grieving young girl with an affliction that she didn‘t ask for, and so I was able to accept her as she is.
I‘ve spent glorious time with this beauty this past weekend. I‘m not entirely finished yet-almost! But I have read and reread passages and entire chapters out of sheer amazement, and I‘m thinking this will be my favorite of the year so far. Some reviews have not liked the MC but I am so drawn by her honesty and how unique she is. And this author is writing what she knows with the Alaskan setting and I AM IN LOVE, my gosh my gosh.
I started this one yesterday and I absolutely love it so far. LOVE.
And uunnngh this cover is so great 😍
#ReadingResolutions #fierce I've not started this yet but reading the back cover, the MC Tracy Petrikoff-"a natural-born trapper and hunter" certainly sounds fierce. As do her late mother's rules: "Never lose sight of the house."
"Never come home with dirty hands." & above all else
"Never make a person bleed."
And the blurb saying it's "an unusual love story and a creepy horror novel--think of the Bronte Sisters and Stephen King"-pretty fierce!
