The Chief Inspector Gamache Series
The Chief Inspector Gamache Series | Louise Penny
16 posts | 14 read | 11 to read
#1 New York Times and Globe and Mail bestselling author Louse Penny's beloved Chief Inspector Armand Gamache mystery novels have received critical acclaim, won numerous awards, and have enthralled millions of readers. Featuring Chief Inspector of Homicide Armand Gamache of the Sret du Qubec, these extraordinary novels are here together for the first time in a fabulous ebook bundle. Still Life Chief Inspector Gamache and his team of investigators are called to the scene of a suspicious death in Three Pines, a rural village south of Montreal. The locals are certain it's a tragic hunting accident and nothing more, but Gamache smells something foul this Thanksgiving season. A Fatal Grace When CC de Poitiers is found dead the day after Christmas, electrocuted in the middle of curling match with no witnesses, Chief Inspector Gamache digs beneath the surface to find where the real secrets are buried. But it seems that Gamache has some enemies of his own, and with the coming of the bitter winter winds, something far more chilling is in store. The Cruelest Month A group of Three Pines villagers decide to celebrate Easter with a sance at the Old Hadley House, hoping to rid the town of its evil-until one of their party dies of fright. But was it a natural death, or murder? As Chief Inspector Gamache investigates, he will be forced to face his very own ghosts as well as those residing in this seemingly idyllic town.

The cover of the newest Gamache book is so pretty. Out in August, not in the database yet.

CSeydel Gorgeous! I didn‘t love the first Gamache book ... maybe I‘ll give the series another try. 3y
JamieArc @CSeydel I think the value of these books lies with the characters and how their friendships grow. I wouldn‘t read these for the mystery plot really. 3y

What an interesting question! When I read it, I immediately thought of Three Pines, the primary location in the Louise Penny books. Visiting this quaint little Canadian village is like curling up in your most comfy reading chair under a well worn quilt in front of the fireplace. Upon meeting them, the quirky cast of characters immediately became my friends and I often wonder how they‘re doing! Comfort reading at its best. 🌲🌲🌲 #GiGiBookBox

Louise Penny is coming to Halifax! 🙌🏼💃 I've never had a chance to hear a favorite author speak. The authors I enjoy almost never come out this way. I hope everything works out so I can go. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

CoverToCoverGirl Awesome for you! I was over the moon when Diana Gabaldon came to Moncton. Words can still not explain how it made me feel listening to her speak and then getting the opportunity to speak a few words with her while she signed my book! ❤️❤️😊 6y

I so love the Inspector Gamache series! I was lucky enough to get one of the Three Pine Maps when Louise Penny was giving them away. I always say I‘m from Three Pines, as my family came from the area. #septinbooks18 #favoritebookishmap

erzascarletbookgasm How did I not know this..that she gave away maps of Three Pines?! 6y
Suzze @erzascarletbookgasm It was a few years ago. If I remember right you sent her your email and she sent you one. Till she ran out. 6y
Crazeedi I've read every one of them , just the best!!! 6y

Y‘all, I think I have a problem. 😄 In my defense, I ordered these before I knew I was going to buy so many books at the festival Saturday. The poetry on top is a Goodreads win, but the rest are Louise Penny. I read her books from the library but I wanted to own them for frequent rereading. Most are from Better a world Books, which donates to literacy programs, so that‘s my rationalization. And if Florence keeps us housebound, I‘m ready! #bookmail

CarolynM Louise Penny books are definitely worth owning! 6y
erzascarletbookgasm I‘ve been meaning to continue reading the Insp Gamache series but keep getting distracted! 6y

Today, I visited some small towns in southern Québec - the same towns Louise Penny drew inspiration from when she created her Inspector Gamache series. On the right is the town square, with a picture of Main Street below; the building in the center of the picture is the bookstore Myrna‘s shop is based on. On the left is the bistro, the boulangerie and the church.

CarolynM Thanks for posting these lovely pictures. I am really enjoying the series, but I've never been to Quebec (or any other part of Canada for that matter) It is great to have some real images to colour my imagination😀 6y

Louise Penny is my favorite #femaleauthor. She is Canadian and her Chief Inspector Armand Gamache Mystery series is set in Quebec in a little village called Three Pines where her quirky characters live. The first book in the series is Still Life. The series should be read in order as each book advances the characters and storyline. Currently the series consists of 13 books with the 14th to be published in August. Great series you shouldn‘t miss!

Mollyanna One of my favorite series as well! I love being transported to Three Pines. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm Planning to start this series this summer- I‘ve heard so many great things about it! 6y
EadieB @Mollyanna @TheFunkyBookworm Three Pines is a great place to visit. Hope you enjoy the series as much as I do. 6y

CarolynM I've only recently discovered this series. Enjoying it enormously🙂 6y
intothehallofbooks I just bought the first two books in this series! I‘m so excited to read them 🤓 6y
EadieB @carolynM @intothehallofbooks Great books to enjoy! 6y
Tamra I started one of the audios last night - the first one with the new narrator. So sad the other died, he embodied Gamache. 6y
EadieB @Tamra Yes Louise just recently lost her husband, Michael too. Both of these deaths were very hard on her. If you are on FB you could become friends with her. 6y
Tamra @EadieB oh, how terrible for her. 😞 6y

Chief Inspector Gamache is a gentleman with a quicksilver mind who knows how to catch a killer. Mostly set in the tiny village of Three Pines in Quebec, this is a quiet, thoughtful series with twisty mysteries & a full cast of eccentric characters, who provide a strong backdrop for each mystery, as well as an overarching struggle between Gamache & police corruption. Each mystery is well-crafted & will keep you guessing to the very end. - Flannery
