In 1926, Agatha Christie disappeared--making headlines across the world--only to show up eleven days later at a spa under an assumed name. During those eleven days, did she have time to write a play? Jordan Kelly needs a new job and a new place to live. She's back in Harrison Falls, New York, living with her not so law-abiding uncles, in debt thanks to a credit card-stealing ex and pending grad school loans. Enter the perfect job, a research position that includes room and board, which will allow her to spend her days hunting down rare mysteries for an avid book collector. There's just one problem: her employer, Vera Van Alst--the most hated citizen of Harrison Falls. Jordan's first assignment is to track down a rumored Agatha Christie play. It seems easy enough, but Jordan soon finds out that her predecessor was killed while looking for it, and there is still someone out there willing to murder to keep the play out of Vera's hands. Jordan's new job is good...but is it worth her life?

This has been my nighttime listen, and I finished it today. It‘s the first in the series, all with mystery writers‘ names in the titles. The mystery was fine, but what will probably keep me reading is the characters. They are different and interesting. A Farther Shore remains my #audiowalk book, but I‘m getting impatient with it.

Meet Sprocket and Tundra, my daughter‘s cats, who I‘m cat sitting this weekend. I have been loving the reading companionship! My two cats are not snugglers . I was super excited to see a pug on the cover of this book but they have yet to make an appearance.

AmyG They are so sweet. There‘s nothing like reading with warm, sleeping cats. 1y
IndoorDame They‘re stunning! Glad you have snuggly reading buddies today! 1y

Fun #cozymystery for #LMPBC Round 15 #GroupM. It kept me guessing right up until the end. And I enjoyed the glimpse into the world of antiquarian books and manuscripts. First in a series, and I look forward to reading more. Great pick, @MaleficentBookDragon ! It‘s on its way to you, @Deblovestoread . 📫

Loved the little tie in to Christie! But I do wish there was more background info on the main protagonist and her family; I keep thinking I‘m missing info from a previous book even though this is only book 1!

To be honest, this was a so-so until about halfway when I realized I could no longer put it down until I finished it! Still not totally connected with MC Jordan but I love Vera and Signora Pantone. Jordan‘s collection of not quite law-abiding uncles are hilarious too! Looking forward to reading the second in this cozy mystery series while hoping the editing issues are better in the sequel.

My author collaboration pick for #augustofpages is this series by a mother and daughter duo. Mary Jane Maffini and her daughter, Victoria, write the "Book Collector" series under the pseudonym Victoria Abbott. This is the coziest series I read. Looking forward to book 5, The Hammett Hex.

[DELETED] 2232195534 I met Mary Jane Maffini this spring. She is a tiny little woman. So cute! 8y
rabbitprincess @kaysreadinglife Wow! Where did you meet her? 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 At the Left Coast Crime Mystery Conference in Phoenix in February. I had such a good time and was totally starstruck by all the authors! 😀 8y
rabbitprincess @kaysreadinglife That sounds like a great event! Just reading the Panels section of the website now. So interesting! 8y

Went to the library to pick up three books on hold and three more leapt into my arms. How could I not check them out, too? 😉 Starting with something lighter, because while I LOVED Homegoing, it put my feels through the wringer.

Notafraidofwords Listen to Me sounds so good. I'm jealous! 8y
Coleen Funny how they just leap into your arms, isn't it? 😉 8y
