My July #bookspin and #doublebookspin are a Rory Gilmore book and a Litsy TBR, respectively. Both the tagged book and DFW‘s Consider the Lobster are on the Gilmore list. I couldn‘t decide between them, so I‘ll read them both for a while and see which one I finish first! 😂 Regeneration is on the #1001books list, but unbeknownst to myself, I also put it on my Litsy stack, so…two birds, one stone. 😂 I think this will be a good reading month! 🤞🏻

*The narrator of Dorothy Parker‘s short story, titled “A Telephone Call,” is progressively becoming a “basket case.” Readers can actually sense her coming undone as she cajoles and bargains with God to get a call from her lover. Of course, things have changed a lot since this piece was first published in 1930. But I‘ll bet there are some people who can relate (and who can remember old-fashioned telephones). 😂
Found this at B&N and couldn't resist the splurge! It has most of her writings including some book reviews of her contemporaries! I decided to donate my older smaller collection of hers to the library.

It's day 19 for #augustofpages and at first I thought I'd have to skip because I don't read poetry often (or at all, really). Then I remembered these two poets living under my roof. 😄 #augustphotochallenge
Is your 24in48 TBR toppling over yet? It might feel insane to pick up the Complete anything during a #readathon but these collections (and Dorothy in particular) are perfect for taking quick bites between other books or just to change things up when your interest is waning. 9 days to go!

pickThis is a collection of her short stories and poetry. Hands down one of my favorite poets, she is so witty and her humor is so on point. "Big Blonde" is my favorite short story.
