Popped into an opshop near to a friends house after I delivered her some prepared meals since she's recently broken her arm. I spent a lovely 2 hours browsing through every shelf, promising myself I would only take home a couple. I ended up with 38! A few for my kids and a couple as gifts.
Here are 10.
My favorite one, which has been on my wishlist for a while, is Seven Little Australians!
Excited about Lilac Girls and Firefly Lane too.

These are the 3 that come immediately to mind. SO many tears shed over them💔💔💔
#ReadingResolutions #day2 #ShelfieSaturday I‘m very quickly running out of room in my library already. Though, a few shelves have other things on them like pictures & my mug/teapot collections. I‘m planning on starting a huge reshuffle of my shelves in Spring, make a database of all books, re-order the shelves & make dedicated shelves for each set of editions like my Bloomsbury Modern Classics, my WordClouds & all my signed books. #LibraryGoals
revisiting this classic for uni
#BookMail No1 from today was the Little Penguin Classics Edition of this famous Australian children‘s story, I already have Playing Beatie Bow & Picnic At Hanging Rock in these editions. This is a story about how Aussie kids are a bit wild & naughty, but lovable as well. Every Aussie has a bit of larrikin in them, it‘s what makes us, well, us! #NewYearNewBooks #SoManyBooksSoLittleFunds
#BookMail today was 3 books for me, 6 books for other Littens! I have been promised that a chariot will await me on Friday to take me to the post office so I can send some rather overdue packages out! All I can do is apologise again to the Littens I‘ve let down. Please understand it wasn‘t deliberate, my traitorous body let all of us down. But, I‘m slowly getting better, no crutches anymore, so the rest of January will be me catching up. 😘❤️😘❤️
While I was slightly perplexed at the statement that none of the children in this book are 'really good for the excellent reason that Australian children never are' (but on reflection, it's probably more true than not) it's was an utterly charming book where I felt right at home. I did realise towards the end that I'd seen at least part of the miniseries (as a small child) as the most heart wrenching part of the book was lodged in my memory.
Fighting the temptation to put this one in the freezer, Joey style. I sense something horrible is coming... and my sister has already driven my car into the neighbours garage door today (and there is a limit to how much I can take)
Really enjoying this so far!
Aside from a few mentions of corsets and catapults it doesn't feel like it was published in 1894 at all...
Mum was all YOU'RE GOING TO NEED TISSUES when I told her I was reading it... so now I'm reading scared. Thanks Mum 🙄
My current read : I was laughing so much that I completely missed my stop and had to go through the city loop agin 😕😂
Some more metro 🚂 action for you @LeeRHarry
